In Frostpunk 2, there is no need to assemble Automatons

Automatons are large robotic workers capable of operating around the clock without the necessity for Food or Heat. Unlike in the original Frostpunk, you do not need to construct Automatons in Frostpunk 2.

If you zoom in closely on your Districts, you can spot Automatons in action. Additionally, you’ll encounter them whenever you perform a Frostbreak.

However, Automatons are not devoid of purpose. While your human workforce often requires attention during challenging scenarios, Automatons can passively alleviate some of this burden, especially if you implement Machine-oriented ideas and laws.

For example, you can pursue research Ideas at your Research Institute that emphasize Progress, which are typically associated with machine labor. Although machines increase Squalor, they help diminish Workload.

Ensure that you prioritize Progress in every law you pass and Idea you research.

In the mid-game, you can begin researching the Automated Factory Idea, but this is contingent upon your laws and Ideas leaning towards Progression rather than Adaptation.

You can assess your core belief orientation by hovering over the rhomboid in the center of the Resources Idea Tree. Once you reach the midpoint of this yellow bar, the Radical Idea “Automated Workforce Factory” becomes obtainable.
