Excitement is building as Black Ops 6 introduces the much-anticipated Archie’s Festival Frenzy event, offering players a chance to earn complimentary Christmas-themed rewards. But that’s just the beginning; the Zombies mode is set to undergo a festive transformation with the launch of Jingle Hells.
Jingle Hells, which first made its debut in Black Ops Cold War with the Die Maschine map, returns in Black Ops 6, not merely with a visual refresh but with enhanced gameplay mechanics. This Season 1 Reloaded Limited Time Mode (LTM) promises to elevate the challenge while immersing players in the holiday spirit.
Release Date for Jingle Hells LTM
The Jingle Hells mode will officially launch on Tuesday, December 17. Although it was initially expected to coincide with the Archie’s Festival Frenzy event on December 19, Treyarch confirmed its earlier rollout via a tweet. Updates are typically scheduled for 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM GMT, and we anticipate this will hold true for this launch as well.

New Gameplay Features in Jingle Hells
Completing the Liberty Falls Main Quest
Players can still undertake the Liberty Falls main quest within the Jingle Hells mode. However, be prepared for a significant increase in difficulty due to the introduction of various new mechanics. It’s important to note that completing the quest in this LTM will not yield unique rewards; developers have assured players that only standard Main Quest completion rewards will be given.
Omitted Features in Jingle Hells
While some familiar components are absent, such as the Mystery Box, Crafting Tables, and Arsenal Machines, the developers have introduced an array of holiday-themed mechanics to compensate for these omissions.
Introducing Holiday Cheer Gobblegum
A delightful addition to the gameplay is the new Holiday Cheer Gobblegum. While it doesn’t provide advantages against the zombie hordes, it does add holiday flair by decorating the zombies with festive trimmings. This Gobblegum can be obtained on any of the three maps, with the Jingle Hells mode offering the best odds. Notably, this item will continue to be available even after the holiday season ends.
Snowball Fights
Players can now collect snowballs scattered throughout Liberty Falls, replacing traditional lethal equipment. These snowballs can be hurled at zombies, dealing considerable damage in a fun, festive twist.
The Naughty or Nice Power-Up
Another intriguing addition is the Naughty or Nice Power-Up—a prominent floating stocking that players can find across Liberty Falls. Its effects are contingent on whether you’ve been ‘naughty’ or ‘nice,’ resulting in either festive gifts or spawning pesky vermin.
Charming Yet Dangerous Snowmen
Beware of the snowmen scattered throughout the map; they might conceal either valuable loot or lurking zombies. It’s advisable to approach them cautiously!
Present Boxes Await
Zombies will now have a chance to drop Present Boxes, which players can open for mysterious rewards. Details on the potential gifts remain undisclosed, so players should remain vigilant. The Trial Computers will also sport a festive look, with additional Present Boxes located nearby.
Introducing Frozen Rounds
In a chilling twist, Jingle Hells will feature Frozen Rounds that can dramatically slow player reactions when exposed to the cold weather. Players are encouraged to seek shelter indoors to stay warm and avoid this detrimental effect.
Additionally, players can look forward to earning the new AMR Mod 4 Sniper Rifle through the Archie’s Festival Frenzy event; a crossover with Squid Game is also slated for release in January.
