Understanding Remnant 2’s Boss Rush Mode

The latest update for Remnant 2 introduces an exciting new mode that significantly enhances the game’s replayability at no additional cost. The newly added Boss Rush mode will launch as a free update alongside the Dark Horizon DLC.

How to Begin Boss Rush Mode

To access Boss Rush mode in Remnant 2, you must first unlock the Ward 13 World Crystal. Once you have done this, navigate to the settings menu where you will find the Boss Rush option located next to Adventure mode. Selecting Boss Rush will present you with three distinct challenges to choose from.

  • Triple Threat: A gripping challenge featuring three consecutive boss encounters.
  • Trial By Fire: A punishing trial against six formidable bosses culminating in the Annihilation final boss.
  • The Gauntlet: An extreme challenge where you will face 19 bosses, leading up to the Annihilation final boss.

Choose your desired Boss Rush challenge and select from four different difficulty levels: Survivor, Veteran, Nightmare, and Apocalypse.

Mechanics of Boss Rush Mode

Boss Rush mode offers more than just straightforward boss fights as the name implies. Specific items can spawn randomly, and defeating the final bosses in each segment can yield rewards that grant powerful perks for subsequent combats. This results in gameplay akin to a Roguelike experience.

In every area, players will encounter the main boss, but they may also need to confront a mini-boss before accessing the boss shroud. You’ll find yourself in an arena surrounded by enemies, and your goal is to eliminate foes while locating the boss shroud.

After defeating the shroud boss in an area, players will be presented with three randomized reward options. These rewards can offer significant buffs, such as on-hit effects, on-kill effects, and stats enhancements.

Finally, while it may seem that your healing artifacts are limited given the nature of Boss Rush mode, be on the lookout for items scattered across the map that can restore charges or provide various upgrades and perks. Keep an eye on your mini-map and remember to explore thoroughly!

That’s everything you need to know about the fundamental mechanics of the new Boss Rush mode in Remnant 2. If you’re also diving into the DLC, check out how to get started with it.
