To fully utilize the recruiting aspect in College Football 25, it is crucial to comprehend the roles of players and how to modify their positions before the start of a new season.

As college football players graduate, transfer, and enter the NFL draft, players in Dynasty mode must continually recruit new talent to ensure the success of their football program each year.

In Dynasty mode, you can search for recruits according to specific positions in order to address any gaps in your team. However, there is also a group of versatile players who can play multiple positions, known as position-less players, in the game mode. Now, let’s delve into what abilities these athletes possess.

In College Football 25 Dynasty mode, if a recruit’s position is listed as ATH, it indicates that they are an “athlete”and are capable of playing multiple positions.

Once signing day has passed, players have the opportunity to alter an athlete’s position before the off-season progression. In case an athlete’s position is not specified, it will be automatically assigned to their primary archetype’s position when the week is advanced.

Regardless of whether a player is an athlete or not, any player can be changed to a different position. The position change spreadsheet displays their overall rating at the new position, their new archetype, and their ranking on the depth chart in comparison to other players at that position.

According to EA, when a player’s new position is confirmed, they will be given a unique set of physical abilities based on their archetype. These abilities and tiers will be determined by their new attributes. However, their mental abilities will remain the same unless they are not applicable to their new position.

To determine an athlete’s ideal position, their attributes are the most reliable indicator. For instance, if their strongest attributes are catching in traffic and running medium routes, they are likely best suited to play as a receiver.
