Just a few days prior to his tragic passing, Liam Payne was the subject of serious allegations from his ex-fiancée, Maya Henry. Although their relationship ended in 2022, Henry has since penned a novel inspired by their complex romance.

Liam Payne, known for being a part of One Direction, suffered a fatal skull fracture on October 16. Reports indicate that before he fell from his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Payne exhibited erratic behavior.

In spite of these troubling signs, the former boy band star shared a post on his Snapchat just hours before the incident, expressing enjoyment in Argentina.

However, shortly before his death, Payne was in the spotlight due to criticisms from his ex, Maya Henry. In a TikTok video, Henry accused him of exploiting his One Direction fanbase, asserting that they would always stand by him, no matter the circumstances.

She further claimed that Payne had “weaponized” his supporters, who continually enabled his behavior to the extent that he was unaware of the harm he was causing.

“Everything gets hidden for him… nothing ever comes out about him,” she stated, describing his alleged misconduct behind closed doors as “disgusting.”

Henry also accused Payne of attempting to overshadow his One Direction bandmates for personal gain, claiming he followed them during their tours to draw attention away from them.

She promised that his “manipulation” strategies would soon be revealed, as her recent book, titled Looking Forward, captures her challenging experiences with Payne.

Despite the book’s candid accounts, including details about an abortion she faced while with him, some of Payne’s fans dismissed her claims as fabricated.

Just one week before his untimely death, Henry initiated legal proceedings by contacting attorneys to issue a cease and desist to her ex-fiancé.

“Maya Henry issued a cease and desist last week to Liam Payne following the emergence of new and concerning information,” her legal team reported.

The legal move came after Henry accused Payne of obsessively reaching out to her, along with her friends and family, using multiple phone numbers.

Payne and Henry were initially seen together in August 2018, and by September of the following year, they made it public on Instagram.

The couple became engaged in August 2020, though by June 2021, they announced their breakup.

“I feel more than anything at this point, I’m more disappointed in myself that I keep on hurting people,” Payne reflected on their split. “That annoys me. I’ve just not been very good at relationships.”

Payne and Henry rekindled their romance by March 2022, but their second split occurred in May 2022.
