During the Shibuya Incident Arc, amidst the chaos, Jujutsu Kaisen includes a brief flashback in which Ogami and the other curse users are filled with fear upon encountering Gojo. Walking alone in the streets, Gojo is seen as a threat by the curse users who wish to eliminate him in order to continue their criminal activities without hindrance.
Despite Gojo’s overwhelming presence, the others are forced to retreat. With just a single glance, he effortlessly scares them away. However, viewers were left perplexed by the sight of a child wandering the city alone.
During a recent interview, Akutami, the creator, responded to over 30 questions about the beloved character Gojo and clarified the truth behind a perplexing scene.

One of the inquiries posed was, “In Chapter 96, Ogami and his companions encountered a young boy named Gojo wandering alone in the city. What was the reason for his presence in the middle of the city?”
Gege explained, “He escaped from his house and was aimlessly roaming.”
Born into the Six Eyes clan, Gojo was the first user of his abilities in 400 years. Due to this, he was taken away from his parents at a young age and raised to become the clan’s future leader. In the same Q&A session, Gege also disclosed that Gojo’s decision to enroll in Jujutsu Tech High School was a result of his frustration with his controlling family.
Fans are experiencing a range of emotions upon learning that kid Gojo had left home out of frustration. As one Twitter user pointed out, in Chapter 96, it was revealed that kid Gojo had ran away from home. This raises the question of how many times he had run away before and if he ultimately left for good. It would be interesting to learn more about his experiences and what ultimately led him to leave his home behind.
According to another source, the character who was deemed the most charming person one would ever encounter had fled from a home with a deeply troubling history that prompts one to question the mental state of the author.
