The Season 5 update for Warzone is filled with a plethora of content, including the addition of the Bounty Contest Public Event, which will bring an extra level of chaos to Resurgence mode.
Randomly appearing during a match, Public Events are modifiers that have the power to drastically alter the flow of a game. In past seasonal updates, we’ve witnessed the introduction of intense modifiers like Climb and Punishment and Heavy Armor. However, this latest addition may prove to be the most chaotic yet.
How does the new Bounty Contest event work in Warzone?
The Bounty Contest event provides a Bounty for each squad still alive in a Resurgence lobby to complete simultaneously. As per usual, completing these Bounties involves eliminating a player and earning a cash reward that can be used to purchase a loadout, Killstreak, or other Equipment.
Nevertheless, the main distinction is that after eliminating the target, you will proceed to eliminate the next member of their squad. This cycle continues until you have eliminated all the players in an opposing squad or if you are eliminated yourself.
Public Events can drastically alter the course of a match.
It was confirmed in the Warzone Season 5 blog that there is an added incentive to swiftly complete the Bounties one after another. It stated that squads who continuously complete Bounties can expect to earn a significant amount of money at a rapid rate.
Just as with a typical Bounty, a circle will be placed on the map to indicate the target’s location. However, instead of pinpointing their exact position, an entire area will be displayed. Therefore, you must remain alert and search for them.
Once the event is triggered at random, the team pursuing you will appear on the right side of your screen. A gauge below will indicate the threat level, increasing as the enemies get closer.
This may result in disorganized and disorderly actions, as teams aim to finish their own Bounty while also keeping an eye out for the opposing squad that is tracking them simultaneously.
The Bounty Contest Public Event will only be available in Resurgence matches on Rebirth Island, Vondel, and Fortune’s Keep during Warzone Season 5. It is uncertain if it will be included in the main BR mode on Urzikstan in a future update.
