In collaboration with the Contra franchise, the Operation Guns DLC for Vampire Survivors introduces new characters and weapons, such as the Short Gun. Read on to learn how to unlock and upgrade the Short Gun in Vampire Survivors.
Unlocking the Short Gun in Vampire Survivors
In order to obtain the Short Gun, players must first possess the Operation Guns DLC. Without the DLC, players will not have access to the new levels, characters, or guns.
The initial objective is to unlock and upgrade the Long Gun, which must be completed before unlocking the Short Gun. This task can be completed quickly depending on your survival abilities, and players are free to exit a match before the timer runs out, as long as the first objective is achieved.
By evolving the Long Gun, players can unlock the character Lance Bean, who comes equipped with the Short Gun. Players can also unlock the Short Gun for any character in the game by surviving for 15 minutes with Lance Bean. This can be done by purchasing the Short Gun from the character selection screen.
How to Evolve Short Gun in Vampire Survivors
To obtain the Prototype B weapon, the Short Gun must be upgraded to its maximum level while possessing both the Weapon Power-Up and Bracer passive items. The DLC has introduced the Weapon Power-Up, which is easily identifiable as a grey briefcase.
The most efficient way to upgrade the Short Gun is by selecting Lance Bean and playing on the Neo Galuga level. Lance Bean will always have the Short Gun at the start and there is a Weapon Power-Up located just south of the initial spawn point on the map.
Similar to other evolutions, you can reach the maximum level for the Short Gun at level eight and then defeat an elite monster around the 10-minute mark to unlock a chest containing the Prototype B evolution. Once this is obtained, players can either leave the match or continue to complete other missions.
