The highly anticipated conclusion to Destiny 2’s Episode Revenant was unveiled on January 7, introducing the challenging new Exotic Mission known as Kell’s Fall. This release not only added content but also concealed many secrets from Act 3 within its depths.
Players now face an intensified version of Act 2’s Tomb of Elders, dubbed Kell’s Vengeance. Here, Guardians must vanquish Skolas, who has returned after being resurrected by Fikrul, leading to a fiercely competitive encounter.
Successfully defeating Skolas can yield significant rewards, including a rare Emblem. According to Light.gg, fewer than 1% of players currently possess this exclusive item.
Unlocking Kell’s Vengeance
To unlock Kell’s Vengeance, players must first complete the entire Revenant storyline. Specifically, you need to finish Kell’s Fall a minimum of three times before receiving the prompt that will allow you to access this mission.
In a similar vein to The Final Shape’s Dual Destiny Exotic Class Item mission, Kell’s Vengeance cannot be tackled solo. A minimum of two players is required to initiate the mission, ensuring that teamwork is essential for success.
Kell’s Vengeance will only be available after completing Revenant Act 3’s narrative, requiring at least two players to undertake this challenge.
The Kell’s Vengeance mission incorporates random modifiers and objectives reminiscent of the Tomb of Elders’ Warden’s Judgment. During the final confrontation with Skolas, Guardians must manage the Devouring Essence debuff, which can only be cleansed by defeating a Baron miniboss and acquiring the Enhanced Essence buff.
To commence the DPS phase, players need to deposit the Enhanced Essence into one of three Servitors located in the boss room. Make sure to choose the Servitor that has a more intense red hue than the others. The encounter doesn’t feature an enrage timer, so you can repeat the necessary steps until Skolas is defeated.
Rewards for Kell’s Vengeance
- Renunciation Exotic Ship
- Revenant Redress Emblem
- Tonic reagents
- Tomb of Elders weapons
Your initial completion of Kell’s Vengeance guarantees the drop of the Renunciation Exotic Ship. Furthermore, while the Revenant Redress Emblem may also drop during your first run, it is not guaranteed like the Renunciation ship.
The exact drop rate for the Emblem is unclear, but due to its rarity, players should prepare to undertake the mission multiple times to acquire this exclusive flair. Below is a preview of both sought-after rewards:
Besides the primary rewards, players can also expect to receive seasonal Revenant weapons and a significant amount of Tonic reagents after each completion, which are instrumental in advancing Eido’s Fieldwork objectives.
Keep in mind that Kell’s Vengeance is classified as a Master-difficulty mission, with a recommended Light Level of 2040. Although it lacks Champion mobs found in other high-level activities, players should not underestimate the challenge it presents.
