A Universal Time (AUT) features an array of unique abilities, with the Mercenaries ability and Dio Brando’s Vampire ability among the most coveted by players. While acquiring these abilities can be challenging, this comprehensive guide offers step-by-step instructions to help you obtain both of them in the game.
Obtaining the Mercenaries Ability in A Universal Time
To unlock the Mercenaries ability, players must complete a quest from the Skaidev NPC, introduced in the Valentine 2025 update. This quest entails defeating a challenging boss and collecting specific items throughout the journey.
Finding Skaidev and Initiating the Quest
Skaidev is situated in the Alabasta region. Navigate through the desert area until you arrive at Alabasta. Here, engage with Skaidev to commence your quest for the Mercenaries ability.
Locating The Spy Boss
Your first challenge involves defeating The Spy boss, found on the Floating Island. To reach this location, head to the soccer field, follow the path on your left, and cross a smaller waterfall to find yourself on the Floating Island, where The Spy boss awaits.
Keep in mind that The Spy boss respawns every 20 minutes. If you encounter a situation where someone else has defeated him, simply wait for his respawn. Once he reappears, either defeat him or contribute 10% of the total damage alongside other players to earn the chest that confirms your objective completion.
Collecting Items for Skaidev’s Quest
To successfully complete Skaidev’s quest, you will need to gather seven specific items: Flamethrower, Medic’s Equipment, Grenade Launcher, Eyelander, Chargin’ Targe, Rocket Launcher, and Knife. Here’s how to collect them:
- Defeat The Spy boss, as he has a 20% chance to drop any of the items listed.
- Engage in battles with normal enemies to open chests, granting a chance to acquire these items.
- If luck isn’t on your side, consider trading with other players for the items.
Once you’ve gathered all the items, present them to Skaidev to conclude the quest. Upon completion, the Mercenaries ability will be automatically added to your skills in A Universal Time.
Acquiring Dio Brando’s Vampire Ability in A Universal Time
The second sought-after ability is Dio Brando’s Vampire ability. To gain this power, players must first obtain the standard Vampire ability and then acquire an item known as Vampirism Mastery.
Securing the Vampire Ability
To acquire the Vampire ability, defeat thugs and loot chests to obtain the Stone Mask. The process may require patience, as success largely depends on luck. Once you successfully secure the Stone Mask, equip it while you are standless to access the Vampire ability.
Obtaining the Vampirism Mastery Item
The Vampirism Mastery item has a 20% drop chance when you defeat the Dio Brando boss. To summon this powerful boss, you need to collect six Dio’s Charms, which can be obtained from chests that drop when you defeat thugs. Use these charms to craft Dio’s Remains at a crafting altar, which in turn will help you summon Dio Brando.
Once Dio Brando appears, defeat him to earn the chance (20%) to acquire the Vampirism Mastery. If you’re unsuccessful, you may need to repeat the entire summoning process multiple times. Given the 20% drop rate, persistence may demand several attempts. After obtaining Vampirism Mastery, use it while in the Vampire stand to unlock Dio Brando’s Vampire ability.
