Many of us have fond memories of playing Mario games, particularly in our younger days. The iconic franchise continues to thrive, with new game series being introduced regularly. The latest hype surrounds Super Mario Party Jamboree, the freshest title added to the Mario Party collection.
This edition boasts a total of 22 characters, with most being readily unlocked for play. However, two new characters are initially locked, including Pauline, whom players must unlock through specific actions.
1. Unlocking Pauline in Super Mario Party Jamboree
To add Pauline to your character lineup, you’ll need to locate her and snap a photo. Look for her on a desert island situated to the left of Minigame Bay, where she can be found among a palm tree, sun lounger, and parasol. Once spotted, zoom in and take a picture to incorporate her into your roster.
Once you unlock her, Pauline is available to play across all boards, minigames, and modes, with the exception of the Paratroopa Flight School. During story mode, character switching isn’t allowed, meaning you’ll need to restart to choose Pauline. Moreover, after unlocking her, new items will become available in the Plaza’s Card Shop.
2. Steps to Unlock Pauline
Follow these steps to successfully unlock Pauline in Super Mario Party Jamboree:
- Go to Party Plaza and converse with the Yellow Toad to get access to the Hot Air Balloon.
- Next, search for Pauline on the “world map.”
- Utilize the R button to navigate to the right side of the boards.
- Find the island on the left side of Minigame Bay where Pauline is waiting.
- Once close enough, zoom in on Pauline using the X button and press A to take the shot.
- This action will successfully add Pauline to your character selection.

In Super Mario Party Jamboree, players have access to 22 characters; 20 of these are readily available, while 2 remain locked.

Super Mario Party Jamboree is a party game released in 2024, developed by Nintendo Cube and published for the Nintendo Switch. This title marks the thirteenth home console entry in the renowned Mario Party franchise and the third on the Nintendo Switch, succeeding Super Mario Party.
As is customary in Mario Party games, players will engage in a competitive board game featuring characters from the Mario universe, with minigames played following each turn, many of which incorporate motion controls.
