In the tumultuous realm of Helldivers 2, it is crucial to have access to all the firepower at your disposal. The arsenal of sturdy weapons and strategic Stratagems are essential, but mastering the use of the Ship Module is also necessary for any hope of survival.
Ship Modules are passive upgrades designed to exponentially enhance your Stratagem abilities. The game features six categories of ship modules, each with four additional unlockable options. However, obtaining all of them requires a significant amount of grinding within the game.
Unlocking Ship Modules in Helldivers 2
In Helldivers 2, players can unlock Ship Modules by gathering samples and requisition slips. These samples come in three variations: Common (Green), Rare (Orange), and Very Rare (Pink). The quantity of each sample needed varies depending on the ship module upgrade.

Collecting Samples in Helldivers 2
To obtain samples, players must complete missions, locate them, and safely bring them back to the ship. These samples are shared among all members of the team, emphasizing the need for players to work together and collect them as a cohesive unit.
The difficulty of the missions determines the type of samples that you farm from them.
- Samples are typically extracted from tasks of varying levels of difficulty, including Trivial, Easy, and Medium.
- Rare Samples are extracted from Challenging, Hard and Extreme difficulty; and
- Extremely scarce samples are recovered from missions with great difficulty, such as Suicide Mission, Impossible and Helldive levels.
