Alongside the Builder Apprentice and the Lab Assistant, the Alchemist enhances player progression by facilitating resource conversion. Unlocking the Alchemist in Clash of Clans
To access the Alchemist, players must reach Town Hall level 11. Although she is visible in the Helper’s Hut, unlocking her requires an expenditure of 100 Gems. This is a reasonable investment given her significant utility in resource conversion.
Upon unlocking, the Alchemist begins at level 1. Players have the option to upgrade her using additional Gems to improve the value of her conversion services.
How to Convert Resources in Clash of Clans
To begin converting resources, navigate to the Helper’s Hut and select the Alchemist. A new interface will display two sections: the left side shows the resource you wish to convert, and the right reveals what you will receive, including any applicable conversion bonuses. The interface allows users to cycle through available resources for conversion.
Players may perform a resource conversion once per day, making the most of the available conversion bonus. Notably, the conversion process is instantaneous, eliminating the need for waiting. Before deciding to upgrade the Alchemist, it’s advisable to consult the conversion table to determine whether the upgrade is worth the investment.

While the resource conversion bonuses appear promising, the Gem costs escalate significantly by level 4. The initial investment of 100 Gems to unlock the Alchemist is justified, but subsequent upgrades may not deliver proportional value.
The primary resource target for conversions tends to be Dark Elixir since it’s essential for upgrading heroes, dark troops, and spells. As players aim to enhance their heroes following the November 2024 Hero Hall update, accumulating Dark Elixir has become increasingly challenging.
Although gaining additional Dark Elixir is advantageous, it’s worth noting that the real benefits for Dark Elixir conversions materialize only at level 7. Consequently, if you’re a free-to-play player, it is advisable to consider upgrading to level 1 or 3, depending on your remaining Gems.
