The Dark Horizon expansion for Remnant 2 brings an exciting array of new items, including weapons, rings, relics, bosses, and quests. While the newly introduced ranged weapons are undoubtedly thrilling, the melee options—particularly the Dark Matter Gauntlets—stand out as a significant addition. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps needed to acquire the Dark Matter Gauntlets in Remnant 2.
Acquiring the Dark Matter Gauntlets in Remnant 2
To craft the Dark Matter Gauntlets, you’ll need to visit Ava McCabe NPC in Ward 13 after acquiring a material called the ‘Black Mass‘. This item is obtained by defeating the final boss in the Dark Horizon DLC.
Alongside defeating Alepsis-Taura, the game’s final boss, it’s necessary to complete several dungeons during your time in the DLC. Within these dungeons, you may find crystals that enhance Alepsis-Taura’s power, which can range from one to two. Look out for vertical beams of light that indicate their location from afar.
As the dungeons in Remnant 2 are procedurally generated, you might discover one or two of these crystal-infused dungeons in a single adventure. If you’re searching for just one, consider rerolling your adventure to improve your odds.
Interestingly, you might complete the dungeon requirements without even realizing it. In my experience, I focused solely on finishing dungeons and overlooked the crystals. It wasn’t until I triumphed over Alepsis-Taura and received the Black Mass that I understood I had fulfilled the prerequisites.
After you meet these conditions, travel to the area known as ‘The Convergence,’ where you’ll encounter the final boss of the Dark Horizon DLC. If you’re having difficulty defeating Alepsis-Taura, we recommend checking out our dedicated guide for strategies and tips.
