Unlocking the “Infinite” Small Chainsaw in Dead Rising: Deluxe Remaster Guide

Unlocking the “Infinite” Small Chainsaw in Dead Rising: Deluxe Remaster Guide

In Dead Rising: Deluxe Remaster, players can utilize a multitude of weapons, all of which experience wear and tear over time. Yet, there exists a method to enhance the durability of select weapons—and one of the most powerful among them is the “Infinite”Small Chainsaw. Here’s how to obtain the Infinite Small Chainsaw in Dead Rising: Deluxe Remaster.

How to Acquire the Small Chainsaw

To locate the Small Chainsaw, you need to defeat Adam during the scoop titled “Out of Control,” which is accessible from 9 PM on September 19th until 11 AM on September 20th. Adam, a clown, wields two Small Chainsaws and displays a range of attacks, including breathing fire and tossing balloons to stun you. While he tends to dodge melee strikes, using a katana can bring him down swiftly. Additionally, shooting the balloons he inflates will temporarily stun him.

The Small Chainsaw will be located on the ground after you’ve defeated Adam. Compared to the standard chainsaw, it offers better advantages: its compact design allows for easier storage in your inventory, and it boasts an extended lifespan, allowing you to take out approximately 80 zombies.

How to Extend the Small Chainsaw’s Lifespan

However, given that there are far more than 80 zombies within the mall, books come into play here. Scattered throughout the mall are numerous bookstores where players can find books offering bonuses that significantly extend the lifespan of various weapons. Notably, some of these bonuses can triple the duration of weapon effectiveness. The key point is that these bonuses stack.

There are three essential magazines that provide bonuses to the Small Chainsaw:

  • Engineering can be located in the Bachman Emporium in Paradise Plaza.
  • Entertainment can also be found in the Bachman Emporium.
  • Criminal Biology is available at Sir Book-A-Lot in Wonderland Plaza.

Equipping all three books allows the Small Chainsaw’s maximum lifespan to skyrocket from around 80 kills to well over 2,000. Additionally, the weapon will respawn, so if you happen to lose it, you can easily retrieve it from where Adam dropped it.

Nonetheless, it’s important to remember that acquiring the full benefits of the Small Chainsaw requires all three books. While you’ll eventually have ample space as your character levels up, initially, you may find it challenging to carry all three along with food and other weapons. It’s also worth noting that using the Small Chainsaw against certain psychopaths like Cletus or the Halls can be difficult since they prefer ranged combat. However, with its rapid attacks, the Small Chainsaw stands out as the best melee weapon during regular gameplay.

Keep in mind a few potential drawbacks of the Small Chainsaw. Due to its significant damage output, it can quickly injure survivors, so it’s wise to maintain a safe distance. Additionally, giving the Small Chainsaw to a survivor might lead to unwanted casualties, as they can harm each other easily. Lastly, using the double lariat skill will result in Frank breaking the Small Chainsaw.
