Unlocking The Keep Armory in Starfield: A Guide to Shattered Space

Unlocking The Keep Armory in Starfield: A Guide to Shattered Space

The Keep Armory is an excellent location to acquire additional weapons, ammunition, and much more – but it’s not accessible immediately.

Although much of the storyline in Starfield’s Shattered Space DLC is quite linear, there are numerous locations for players to explore, particularly on the moon Va’ruun’kai. This moon houses a convenient shop where you can purchase weapons and other resources, ensuring you remain well-equipped throughout your adventure.

However, if you discover the Armory before unlocking it, you won’t be able to access it. Here’s how to locate it if you haven’t found it yet, and importantly, how to unlock The Keep Armory in Shattered Space.

Where to Find The Keep Armory

Located in the heart of the city.

Once you gain access, you will find The Keep Armory in Dazra City, situated on the moon Va’ruun’kai, which is part of the Shattered Space DLC.

Please note that The Keep Armory is exclusive to this DLC; if you only have the base game, its new features will not be available to you.

How to Unlock The Keep Armory: A Step-by-Step Guide

To unlock The Keep Armory in Starfield, you must complete the House Veth’aal questline, known as Conflict in Conviction. This involves finishing the first two quests of the DLC while ensuring you pursue the House Veth’aal paths.

Begin by completing The Promised, Broken quest and then speak to Ekris. After your conversation, he will assign you the quest Aligning the Houses, which includes Conflict in Conviction.

Once you have completed this quest, you can talk to Marlana Volav, who will grant you access to The Keep Armory due to your affiliation with House Veth’aal.

  1. Complete the first two main quests.
  2. Talk to Ekris to initiate Conflict in Conviction.
  3. Finish the Conflict in Conviction quest.
  4. Speak with Marlana Volav for entry to The Keep Armory.

Step 1: Complete What Remains and The Promised, Broken

At the start of the Starfield Shattered Space DLC, you’ll encounter two primary quests: What Remains, followed by The Promised, Broken.

Warning: Spoilers for the quests ahead.

What Remains directs players to grav-jump to a desolate system to dock with the Oracle, transforming it from a hostile, inoperative shell into a functioning ship. Shortly after, you’ll receive a transmission, concluding the first quest.

Next, you’ll fully explore Dazra City and the planet Va’ruun’kai, during which you will embark on walking the Serpent’s Path, which forms the bulk of the second major quest.

Step 2: Speak to Ekris

After selecting your Effigys and engaging with the High Council and Malibor Dul’kehf, you’ll need to locate Ekris. The NPC is positioned outside the ship, so it’s advisable to follow your quest marker.

Speaking to Ekris will unlock the quest Aligning the Houses, which in turn opens up three questlines for you to complete: Exhuming the Past, Conflict in Conviction, and Zealous Overreach, each focusing on the houses Dul’kehf, Veth’aal, and Ka’dic respectively.

Step 3: Complete Conflict in Conviction

At this stage, there are plenty of tasks to pursue, but if your goal is to unlock The Keep Armory, your primary focus should be on finishing Conflict in Conviction, which emphasizes the House Veth’aal.

Without giving too much away, you’ll need to find Vaeric, examine several clues along the way, and make a significant decision at the end.

Step 4: Go to The Keep Armory and Speak with Marlana Volav

Once you have completed Conflict in Conviction, return to Dazra City and enter the large ship. Inside the north wing of the ship, you’ll find The Keep Armory.

Approach the store and converse with Marlana Volav. Thanks to your newly established connection with House Veth’aal, you will finally gain entry.

Now that you have access, we recommend checking out some of the best weapons in Starfield to ensure you are always prepared, or browse some of the top ships available to help you navigate the stars and various planets with ease.
