The Machinery Key is an essential item to obtain in Escape from Tarkov. It is required to complete the Background Check task, which unlocks multiple other tasks in the game. Many players prioritize obtaining this key so they can access their preferred maps such as Interchange, Shoreline, or Streets of Tarkov. Follow these steps to acquire the Machinery Key and successfully complete the Background Check task in Escape from Tarkov.
How to Obtain the Machinery Key in Escape from Tarkov
The Machinery Key can be found in any jacket, although there is a guaranteed spawn location in Customs. It is only necessary for the Background Check task, so obtaining the key, using it on the truck, picking up the Bronze Pocketwatch, and successfully extracting can all be accomplished in one raid.
Room 205 in the three-floor dorms building is the definite location to find the Machinery Key spawn. Simply jump over the small barricade and enter the room, then search for the two jackets next to the cabinet. It is possible for Battlestate Games to alter the quantity of keys at times, but you will still be able to obtain one for sure.
If the key is missing, it is likely that another player has already taken it, so you should proceed with caution. However, if someone else has already retrieved it, they will most likely use it to unlock the truck in the construction area, allowing you to complete the Background Check task.
Bronze Pocketwatch Location in Escape from Tarkov
The Machinery Key is essential for unlocking the door to the fuel tank located near the Crackhouse and construction area. Once inside, you will find the Bronze Pocketwatch on the floor next to the pedals. However, be cautious as jumping on top of the box to reach it leaves you vulnerable to enemy players in the vicinity.
If the map has a large number of PMCs, it may be beneficial to run it at night in order to encounter fewer PMCs. While there is a possibility of encountering Cultists, it may be worth the risk as they tend to spawn less frequently.
Completing the Background Check task will result in the availability of additional tasks, including Delivery from the Past. You can complete Delivery from the Past in conjunction with other Factory quests such as Walls Have Eyes, Claustrophobia, and Exit Here.
