KAY/O’s ultimate in Valorant is exceptionally beneficial, and recent findings have highlighted a meaningful interaction that enhances the revive mechanic, which many previously deemed ineffective, particularly when paired with Yoru.
Both agents, KAY/O and Yoru, share several traits—including their flash abilities that teammates can utilize and their scouting mechanics. Although pairing these Valorant agents is not rare, the newly discovered interaction suggests that players should consider teaming them up more frequently.
Yoru’s ultimate grants him near invisibility from enemies, restricting him to using abilities but not weapons. Nonetheless, the Duelist can still engage with various elements on the map, such as collecting weapons and utilizing other agent abilities.
One of the notable interactions Yoru can engage with involves KAY/O’s ultimate. During Yoru’s ultimate, he has the capability to revive KAY/O if the robot goes down.

This under-the-radar interaction enhances the revive aspect of KAY/O’s NULL/cmd, getting the agent back into the fight with minimal risk. Historically, the main drawback of the revive mechanic was that the teammate bringing KAY/O back could easily be targeted by the opposing team.
Ideally, KAY/O players should go down while utilizing their ultimate under favorable conditions, but this rarely occurs as advancing toward the enemy is often the most strategic use of the ability.
While utilizing his ultimate, Yoru is immune to enemy damage, preventing the opposing team from eliminating him during KAY/O’s revival. When executed correctly, Yoru can deactivate his invisibility precisely as KAY/O is revived, allowing him to retaliate against the enemy team when facing immediate threats.
The combination of KAY/O and Yoru is already formidable on various maps due to their flashes. Thus, synchronizing these synergistic ultimates to fully capitalize on the Initiator’s potential is a game-changing tactic that players should increasingly deploy.
