Unlocking the Third Eye: How Code Could Complete the Iconic Trio in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex

The renowned karma trio featured in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex includes Boruto, Kawaki, and Code. While Boruto and Kawaki possess true karma, Code wields a deceptive white version. Nevertheless, there may be an undiscovered potential within Code, rooted in a secret that the creator has kept hidden since his debut, which is linked to the scar on his forehead.

All the characters who possess karma share an eye design reminiscent of Shibai Otsutsuki’s eyes, as evidenced by his silhouette. Notably, Shibai also had a unique third eye, the Rinne Sharingan, which is currently absent in all three characters. It’s speculated that Code’s concealed forehead may hide an unactivated Rinne Sharingan, poised to awaken upon his consumption of the chakra fruit.

The central character in this narrative, Boruto Uzumaki, acquires karma following his battle with Momoshiki Otsutsuki. This karma endows Boruto with eyes similar to the Byakugan, specifically known as the Jougan. As of chapter 15 in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, there are indications that Momoshiki’s complete revival may be imminent, hinting at a grim future in which he fully seizes control of Boruto’s body.

Kawaki serves as the secondary protagonist, being granted his karma due to Isshiki Otsutsuki’s premonition of his own limited lifespan on Earth. After Isshiki’s demise, Kawaki maintained his karma, which was modified by Amado. In the most recent chapter, Kawaki demonstrates significant mastery over his karma, which manifests through his distinctive yellow-striped eyes known as the Kokugan.

On the antagonist side, Code emerged as a crucial villain in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, inheriting his karma post-Isshiki’s death. Unlike Boruto and Kawaki, Code’s karma is a false white version, indicating his lack of compatibility with true karma. Nevertheless, just like Kawaki, he exhibits some level of control over his karma, although he has yet to demonstrate any doujutsu such as the Jougan or Kokugan.

The two doujutsu, namely Jougan and Kokugan, are thought to be connected with Shibai Otsutsuki, who is suggested to wield them as depicted in the series. However, Shibai’s Rinne Sharingan remains elusive to all three karma users.

Code’s potential to awaken this powerful doujutsu is speculated to hinge on the mystery that lies beneath his forehead, which has remained hidden since his initial entry. It’s conceivable that this scar may serve as the key to awakening the Rinne Sharingan when Code consumes the chakra fruit.

This concept finds precedence in the histories of characters like Madara and Kaguya from the Naruto series, and possibly applies to Shibai Otsutsuki as well. Code’s fervent desire to obtain the chakra fruit, evident in his willingness to sacrifice his arm during his dealings with the Shinju, may reflect this ambition.

Concluding Thoughts

Presently, Code’s potential to emerge as a formidable final antagonist appears lower than anticipated, diminishing his likelihood of evolving into a major villain. Additionally, becoming the jinchuriki of the Ten-tails—which is crucial for the Rinne Sharingan’s awakening—seems to be beyond Code’s current capabilities. Thus, it’s advisable to approach this theory cautiously as we observe how Code’s development plays out in the storyline.
