In the Dark Horizon DLC for Remnant 2, a brand-new Archetype called the Warden awaits players. To unlock this Archetype, you must locate the engram in the game world and return it to Wallace.
How to Access the New Dark Horizon Warden Archetype in Remnant 2
To obtain the Warden Archetype, first, acquire the Command Module within the Overworld of N’Erud. Progress to the second major open-world area on the N’Erud map and unlock the Withered Necropolis fast travel point. Look for the Custodian, indicated by a green marker on the map below. Nearby, there is a mechanism at the edge of a cliff (marked in blue on the map below); approach it to summon a glider, which lets you glide safely down the cliff.
Leap off the cliff and embrace the massive pillar on the right; locate the wind pillars that elevate you multiple times into the air. You will need to navigate upward into a lighted zone, eliminate the enemies that spawn there, and then proceed through the left entrance to discover the long bridge. An elite enemy will be encountered midway across the bridge. Once you reach the end, collect the Withered Mechanism and return it to Wallace. A nearby checkpoint is available for a quick return.
Where to Find Wallace in Remnant 2
Wallace, also known as Wally, is located at Ward 13. You can find him at the docks inside a small house situated at the top of some stairs. He is responsible for crafting the unique equipable item necessary to unlock the Warden, just as he has done with previous Archetypes. To create this item, you will need to present him with the module and five Lumenite Crystals.
What Does the Warden Start With in Remnant 2?
Upon unlocking the Warden, you can create a new character for this Archetype. Your Warden will don unique Nanoplated armor, a lightweight and aesthetically appealing armor set offering good resistance against Bleed, Blight, and Fire damage. A standout feature of the Warden is the drone, which reveals enemy locations on the mini-map when active.
The long-range weapon you receive is the Plasma Cutter, which includes a distinct weapon mode known as Heat Sink. This mode amplifies maximum damage while allowing the weapon to overheat slowly. Although the weapon description indicates that it overheats automatically once Heat Sink deactivates, my experience suggests this may not occur (possibly a bug). This energy-based cutting tool delivers a consistent stream of damage.
The sidearm shoots a stream of nanomachines that replenish energy to friendly drones or turrets and heals allies when directed at them. It has an overheating feature but lacks a built-in unique mod, allowing you to select any mod you prefer. Consequently, you start with two mods—one for each weapon, providing a powerful beginning for your new adventure.
Additionally, the Warden has access to a striking melee weapon called the Harvester Scythe. It features a rapid attack speed, and its charged attack unleashes a phantom blade, significantly enhancing your melee speed. You can combine charged attacks to stack speed boosts effectively.
