Destiny 2 has introduced its inaugural two-round burst shotgun with the weekly reset on October 29, captivating players with its distinct features that extend beyond its basic archetype.
This weapon, known as Arcane Embrace, is part of the 2024 edition of Destiny 2’s annual Halloween event, the Festival of the Lost. It fires two slugs swiftly with each trigger pull, functioning somewhat like a Precision Frame shotgun.
However, unlike typical precision weapons, this shotgun doesn’t rely on precision damage to excel, making it a formidable choice for dealing damage across all PvE scenarios. Additionally, it includes a wealth of potential perks, some of which have never been available on a shotgun before.
Perks Available for Arcane Embrace
Below is a list of all the perks that can be found on Arcane Embrace:
Barrel | Magazine | Basic Trait 1 | Basic Trait 2 |
---|---|---|---|
Arrowhead Brake, Chambered Compensator, Corkscrew Rifling, Extended Barrel, Fluted Barrel, Full Bore, Hammer-Forged Rifling, Polygonal Rifling, Smallbore | Accurized Rounds, Appended Mag, Tactical Mag, Extended Mag, Steady Rounds, Alloy Magazine, Flared Magwell | Air Trigger, Fourth Time’s the Charm, Grave Robber, Lone Wolf, Slideshot, Dual Loader, Threat Detector | Closing Time, Desperado, Precision Instrument, Surrounded, Tap the Trigger, Swashbuckler, Voltshot |
Among the numerous appealing combinations, the pairing of Dual Loader and Voltshot stands out. Dual Loader accelerates the reloading process to fill the magazine more quickly, enabling players to maximize firepower during Voltshot’s seven-second effect, which triggers after reloading post-kill.
Given that the seasonal artifact from Episode Revenant emphasizes utilizing Stasis and Arc subclasses, this specific configuration of Arcane Embrace will be highly effective for existing builds, seamlessly integrating with perks such as Retinal Burn and Anti-Barrier Shotgun.
Though designed primarily for PvE gameplay, some exciting combinations can also be explored in PvP scenarios. The pairing of Slideshot and Closing Time has become popular for shotguns in Revenant, and we believe that Dual Loader, coupled with Desperado’s rate of fire enhancements, could prove to be a strong contender.
A notable drawback, however, is that Arcane Embrace experiences a significant limitation due to its low base Aim Assistance of just 40. This makes it challenging for it to compete with well-established favorites like Matador 64 and Prophet of Doom.
Nonetheless, the chance for rewarding experimentation makes the Festival of the Lost an event worth participating in.
