During a recent online event shared on X, Jason DeMarco, one of the key executive producers for the anime, addressed the animation quality concerns surrounding “Uzumaki.”However, after his statements generated considerable discussion online, they were subsequently removed from the social media platform.

According to DeMarco, the decline in quality was anticipated. While he opted not to delve into specific details, he highlighted that the production team faced a dilemma: either to cease production and release only the inaugural episode or to push through with the airing of all four episodes, albeit in their current state.

Reflecting on the efforts poured into the anime, the decision was made to proceed with the airing of all episodes, a choice which regrettably contributed to a less-than-satisfactory animation experience in episode 2.

Regardless of the extended production timeline, the animation quality in the second episode showcased significant shortcomings.
