The upcoming expansion for Final Fantasy XIV, Dawntrail, is set to bring about significant changes to the jobs, particularly for the physical ranged DPS role. With a level cap increase to 100, here is what we can expect from the updates for this role in the expansion.
With the release of Dawntrail, Final Fantasy XIV players can expect an abundance of fresh content for the long-standing MMO. This highly anticipated update will include new main story quests, locations, jobs, and more, giving players much to anticipate.
The expansion also includes an elevated level cap of 100, allowing all jobs to acquire new abilities and actions in order to combat the new foes.
General
Like the Melee DPS, Phys Ranged jobs will also be granted a boost in healing potency for their Second Wind ability. Additionally, their damage mitigation abilities for the entire party will be enhanced, increasing from 10% to 15%.
The Bard
Bard is undergoing a few quality-of-life improvements, which will convert their songs Mage’s Ballad, Army’s Paeon, and Wanderer’s Minuet into buffs. This will eliminate the need to select an enemy in order to activate the songs, resulting in enhanced effectiveness during periods of downtime.
To make it simpler to use against numerous foes, Pitch Perfect is also being transformed into an AoE attack.
Machinist
The Machinist’s Barrel Stabilizer will now enable players to execute Hypercharge instead of increasing the Heat Gauge by 50. This change has been implemented to prevent players from exceeding the heat cap, resulting in a more forgiving experience for the class.
In Dawntrail, Machinist now has the capability to generate additional damage as Drill is receiving two charges.
Dancer
The Dancer’s collection of moves will soon include an additional action that can be performed following the Flourish. In addition, a new spell that uses up Espirit will become available after executing the Technical Finish.
