Disney Dreamlight Valley consistently rolls out new updates that introduce exciting characters, delicious recipes, and much more, but tracking the release dates can sometimes be challenging.
In the past year, devoted fans of Disney Dreamlight Valley have thoroughly enjoyed numerous content additions, which include fresh recipes, new Realms, beloved characters, and engaging Star Paths. This continuous influx of new content is what keeps players returning for more adventures.
Fortunately, Gameloft is fairly transparent about their update schedule, providing plenty of anticipation for what’s next. However, finding specific release dates can still be a bit elusive. So, here’s a comprehensive overview of everything we currently know about the upcoming Disney Dreamlight Valley update, including its expected release date and the new content on the horizon.
When is Disney Dreamlight Valley’s next update?
The next Disney Dreamlight Valley update is slated for release in October 2024.
The Dapper Delights Star Path concludes on October 1, and Gameloft usually allows a window of at least one to two weeks between the end of a Star Path and the launch of the next one. Therefore, we anticipate the upcoming update to debut in early to mid-October, with October 9 being the earliest possible date.
The August 2024 Dapper Delights update welcomed Tiana to the Valley, along with the concluding act of the A Rift in Time expansion, granting players who own the DLC the ability to unlock Jafar as a Villager.
Besides the addition of new characters, this update also featured a 1920s-themed Star Path and various quality-of-life enhancements.
Disney Dreamlight Valley roadmap
As noted earlier, Disney Dreamlight Valley is quite forthcoming about its future update strategies, and players can refer to a detailed roadmap that outlines forthcoming characters, mysteries, Realms, and the evolving narrative of the Rift in Time expansion.
In October 2024, fans can look forward to the arrival of Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King Realm. This will likely be accompanied by an array of new quests. While it remains uncertain whether new food-related recipes will be included in this update, it is certainly a possibility.
In addition to introducing new characters, the developers have indicated that the October update will be “smaller in scope and shorter, focusing on fixes and quality-of-life enhancements to enhance your gaming experience as we gear up for a larger update later in the year.”
Looking ahead to late 2024, likely around December given the usual two-month interval between updates, Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas is expected to join the adventure. Clues like “stitch a new mystery together” and imagery of Sally’s dress hint at her arrival and a new questline filled with intriguing puzzles—only time will tell!
Since we have recently experienced the August 2024 update for Eternity Isle, the future of this expansion remains somewhat uncertain. However, the roadmap assures players to “Tune in for plenty more announcements coming later this year,” indicating that exciting updates are on the way.
Gameloft has committed to providing more details in an upcoming Showcase Stream, which is expected to reveal the rest of the year’s content, potentially including another expansion following the completion of A Rift in Time’s storyline in August 2024.
