Upcoming End of Two Popular Netflix Shows in 2025

Could Netflix be launching its own Barbenheimer competitor by 2025? It’s a possibility, as two of its most popular franchises are set to conclude.

Despite the initial belief that 2024 would be a year of endless lounging on the couch, Netflix has exciting plans in store for 2025. However, these plans include the conclusion of its two most popular titles.

We were already aware of the first half – news of Stranger Things Season 5 being set for a 2025 release had been revealed earlier in the year, and it was announced that it would serve as the final farewell before Season 4 aired.

Until now, information regarding Squid Game’s upcoming series has been closely guarded. However, this week has brought some revelations – not only do we now know that Season 2 will be released on December 26, 2024, but it has also been announced that Season 3 will conclude the show in 2025.

Though we do not yet have confirmed release dates for either of these highly-anticipated TV shows, fans are already in a frenzy over both epic series concluding simultaneously.

The simultaneous release of the last seasons of Squid Game and Stranger Things in the same year is predicted to be life-changing, according to a fan who shared their thoughts on X/Twitter.

A second person concurred by stating, “It’s a shame that two of Netflix’s most iconic shows are both ending in the same year.”Meanwhile, a third individual expressed dissatisfaction with the comment, saying, “I have to admit, Netflix’s future doesn’t look very promising.”

This year/next, Umbrella Academy, YOU, Cobra Kai, Squid Game, and Stranger Things will all come to an end. It would be easier to accept if there weren’t so many great shows being cancelled.

Fans of Stranger Things have been preparing themselves for its ending, while fans of Squid Game are unsure about the news of a potential third season.

“According to a post on Reddit, there is a sense of difficulty in finding a balance between moving beyond the games and maintaining the essence of the show, as the latter could result in backlash. However, repeating the same content may come off as forced and redundant.”

“One person reflected, stating that Season 1 set such a high standard that it’s highly unlikely for Season 2 and 3 to surpass it. They believe it will most likely be a one-hit-wonder situation.”

The Basic plan subscribers were required to switch as the streaming service introduced notable modifications to its paid plans in July.
