Art the Clown has arrived to torment our dreams in the near future with the Terrifier 3 teaser trailer, so Longlegs needs to step aside.
Damien Leone’s Christmas-themed threequel is set to be the perfect finale for horror movie enthusiasts, making 2024 the ultimate year for them.
Prior to its Halloween debut, a gruesome new Terrifier 3 teaser trailer has surfaced, indicating that the upcoming film will have a more ominous and chilling atmosphere compared to its previous installment.
Terrifier 3: A Possible Contender for the Infamous Bedroom Scene?
In a later scene of the teaser, Art (David Howard Thornton) is shown enjoying the aftermath of one of his rampages. Dressed in a Santa costume, he takes a seat in a pool of blood with a severed foot next to him. He then proceeds to make a sinister “snow”angel.
The scene depicting Art intruding on a couple in the shower and brutally killing them with his axe is cut short. However, despite its brief duration, the level of gore is just as intense as one would anticipate, possibly foreshadowing the possibility that Terrifier 3 may surpass the second film’s most graphic scene.
For those who are unfamiliar, Terrifier 2 includes one of the most merciless kills ever portrayed in film. In her bedroom, Art subjects Sienna’s friend Allie to excruciating torture by scalping her, tearing off one of her arms, splitting the other in two, and dousing her in bleach and salt.
This is just one of the many instances that resulted in reports of audience members becoming sick and losing consciousness during screenings. Based on the latest trailer, it seems that the third installment will fulfill Leone’s assurance that it will be “crazy.”
During an interview with JoBlo Celebrity Interviews last year, the director expressed that he was unable to pitch Terrifier 3 to Hollywood studios because he was aware that they would not allow him to create the film based on the first five pages.
“Leone continued, emphasizing the insanity of Terrifier 3 by stating, “I can assure you that the first five minutes of this film will be extremely controversial. However, that is not even the most shocking kill scene.”
The return of Victoria Heyes
In addition to featuring final girl Sienna (Lauren LaVera), the film also brings back Victoria Heyes (Samantha Scaffidi), who was the only survivor in the first Terrifier and the sister of Art’s previous victim, Tara.
Vicky’s encounter with Art resulted in severe disfigurement and triggered her descent into madness. In the mid-credits scene of Terrifier 2, Vicky, now institutionalized, uses blood to paint ‘Vicky + Art’ on the wall of her cell before giving birth to a living head of Art.
Vicky’s role in the highly anticipated movie is expected to be significant, as shown in the recently released teaser trailer which includes a jump scare moment featuring her face.
The storyline takes place five years after the events of the sequel and will delve into the killer clown’s relationship with Sienna and her deceased father.
Terrifier 3 will be released in theaters on October 11, 2024.
