Iron Banner is a highly competitive PvP mode in Destiny 2 that is only available during certain times of the season. The next scheduled event is The Final Shape, where players can earn exclusive rewards.
Since its inception in the first Destiny game, Iron Banner has played a significant role in The Crucible for numerous years. Despite only appearing a handful of times each season, this time-limited PvP playlist provides guardians with a unique gameplay experience.
In addition to offering unique rewards, Iron Banner features exclusive game modes that are not available anywhere else. This makes it essential to participate when it is active, as these rewards are only offered periodically.
To avoid this, refer to the Iron Banner schedule which outlines the upcoming dates for the PvP game mode in Bungie’s looter shooter.
When is the next Iron Banner event in Destiny 2?
The next Iron Banner event has been confirmed by Bungie to go live on September 10 at the weekly reset, as announced on X/Twitter. The developer stated, “Iron Banner incoming. Next Tuesday (Sept 10): Control Following (Sept 17): Eruption See you out there.”
During the two-week duration of Iron Banner, the first half of the event will feature the Control mode, followed by a switch to Tribute in the second week. Trials of Osiris will be suspended while Iron Banner is active and will resume after the event concludes.

What is Iron Banner?
The Iron Banner is a temporary PvP game mode that occurs twice per season, taking place during Acts 1 and 3 of every season. Each occurrence presents a unique variation of an existing Crucible game mode, or a completely new mode that is exclusive to the Iron Banner.
Earning reputation in Iron Banner is distinct from other modes as you receive extra rank points as you continue playing, equip more Iron Banner gear, and have the Iron Banner emblem activated.
