The LEGO Icons The Lord of the Rings Barad-Dûr set was leaked prior to its official reveal. Here’s all the information that has been uncovered thus far.
Currently, the only LEGO model paying homage to Middle-earth using LEGO bricks is the trio of The Lord of the Rings-inspired LEGO BrickHeadz sets available for purchase. However, fans can look forward to the release of the LEGO BrickHeadz Legolas & Gimli kit on June 1, 2024.
The impressive LEGO Icons The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell set is designed to impress. Available exclusively at the LEGO Store, this kit is considered one of the top LEGO Icons sets. Its wide range of bricks seamlessly fit together to form a highly intricate replica of the iconic setting from The Lord of the Rings.
Thanks to the contribution of Clay_Bricks, a moderator on the Reddit channel LegoLeak, we have received confirmation that another LEGO Icons set inspired by a well-known location from The Lord of the Rings will be released soon. This new set will feature a brick-built version of Barad-Dûr, also known as the Eye of Sauron. Here is everything we currently know about this exciting addition to the LEGO collection.
When will the LEGO Icons The Lord of the Rings Barad-Dûr be released?
According to Clay_Bricks, the official release date for the LEGO Icons The Lord of the Rings Barad-Dûr is set for June 1, 2024. The kit will be priced at $459.99 upon its launch, which is $40 cheaper than the 6167-piece Rivendell-based model.
This upcoming set, created for individuals 18 and older who are passionate about The Lord of the Rings, contains 5471 pieces that can be easily assembled together to create an authentic LEGO model of Sauron’s stronghold in Mordor.
The set’s leaked images showcase an array of genuine exterior and interior design elements, providing a glimpse into its four-level construction. Standing at an impressive 32.5 inches in height and 17.5 inches in width, the set is revealed to be quite sizeable.
The LEGO-reimagined Eye of Sauron is an impressive addition, featuring a LEGO Light brick that enables you to replicate the fiery rim of the ever-watchful eye of Middle Earth’s most fearsome enemies. Along with its vibrant orange pieces, this creation truly captures the essence of the Eye of Sauron.
The collection will consist of an excellent variety of minifigures and accessories, such as Frodo Baggins, Samwise Gamgee, Sauron, Gollum, a pair of Brown Orcs, and two Green Orcs. Additionally, a Nazgul is included.
