Riot Games has announced that the upcoming champions following Aurora will have a more “dark”theme.
League of Legends is preparing to introduce their latest champion, Aurora. She is a lovable Vastayan mage from the Frejlord who gracefully dances and leaps across the battlefield, skillfully outmaneuvering her adversaries.
Riot has recently been releasing champions with a more adorable aesthetic, as seen with Smolder and Aurora, who bring a gentler touch to the Summoner’s Rift.
Despite this trend, the developers have hinted that they will be introducing champions with “darker themes”in the near future.
In a recent interview with Dot Esports, lead champion producer Lexi Gao revealed that the upcoming champions to join the League of Legends roster will have a darker theme. One of these champions is Amebessa Medarda from the popular Arcane series, who will be making her debut as a top lane fighter in the near future.
Being an ambassador from Noxus, it would be expected for her to possess a more merciless disposition. The area is renowned for its fondness of conflict and combat, which would certainly be a contrast to the lighthearted and daring champions that have been introduced thus far.
Riot has a wealth of expertise in handling darker themes, exemplified by champions like Warwick, Fiddlesticks, and Bel’Veth who demonstrate the developers’ ability to effectively convey a more somber tone.
Similarly, the Shadow Isles, Bilgewater, and Ionia are all ripe for the introduction of champions with a darker aesthetic. However, these regions have not received many new releases recently. This may soon change in the near future.
On July 14, 2024, League of Legends players can look forward to experiencing the game’s adorable and lovable aspect with the release of Aurora alongside Patch 14.14.
