These are the next steps in Phase 5 and Phase 6.

Captain America: Brave New World (February 14, 2025)

In the finale of Avengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) passed the shield to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) as an elderly man. Falcon and the Winter Soldier showed Wilson struggling with the responsibility of becoming the new Captain America, but he eventually embraced it and donned the iconic suit. This marks the first full-length film featuring Captain America without Evans in the role.

As depicted in Brave New World, Sam navigates his new role as Captain America after revealing his identity at the conclusion of his Disney+ series.

The upcoming film, The Cloverfield Paradox, will be directed by Julius Onah and will feature Harrison Ford’s General Ross, as shown in the trailer. Additionally, Danny Ramirez and Carl Lumbly will reprise their roles as Joaquin Torres and Isiah Bradley from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

It has been announced that Marvel will also have their own anti-hero team-up movie called Thunderbolts, which will be directed by Paper Towns filmmaker Jake Schreier and written by Eric Pearson, known for his work on Black Widow.

Marvel’s Thunderbolts is set to have a unique taste compared to the rest of the MCU, thanks to its diverse lineup which includes Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova/Black Widow, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster, Wyatt Russell as John Walker/US Agent, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost, and David Harbour as Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian.

Valentina is assembling a team to carry out black ops missions that the government cannot assign to their more public and official heroes.

Since Disney acquired 20th Century Fox, there has been much speculation about the future of The Fantastic Four. While the superhero team has appeared on the big screen in the past, the most recent attempt in 2015 by Josh Trank was met with disaster. It is unlikely that Miles Teller will reprise his role as Mr. Fantastic.

First Steps was officially announced in the beginning of 2024. The cast includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, also known as The Thing. In addition, Ralph Ineson has been chosen to portray the menacing Galactus.

The first film of Phase 6, the new Fantastic Four, is set to release on July 25, 2025.

Charlie Cox will return as Daredevil in a new Disney+ series.

The removal of Netflix’s previously essential MCU shows continues to feel sensitive, particularly in regards to Daredevil, featuring Charlie Cox as the Man Without Fear in Hell’s Kitchen.

In the globe, movie theaters were abuzz with excitement when Cox’s character made a short appearance as Peter Parker’s attorney in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Shortly thereafter, a renewed Daredevil series was revealed.

The upcoming series Daredevil: Born Again will feature Cox reprising his role as well as Vincent D’Onofrio returning as Kingpin, with a total of 18 episodes.

The last time Wesley Snipes portrayed Marvel’s beloved Daywalker was in Blade: Trinity. In the near future, the MCU will introduce their own rendition of the vampire slayer, played by Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali. Fans were given a sneak peek of Ali’s character in the post-credits scene of Eternals, where Dane Whitman (Kit Harrington) is seen examining the Ebony Blade.

Despite experiencing delays due to frequent rewrites and changes in directors, we can confirm that Mia Goth has been cast alongside Ali and the production team is determined to begin filming as soon as possible.

Blade’s arrival is scheduled for November 7, 2025 as part of Phase 6.

Ironheart was first introduced in Black Panther 2

The impact of Tony Stark’s death is still being felt throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ironheart, a character originally created by Brian Michael Bendis and artist Mike Deodato, will be portrayed by Dominique Thorne. Riri Williams, a brilliant teenager, will be the inventor of a highly advanced suit of armor that rivals Iron Man’s.

Despite the completion of filming, the series is yet to receive a release date on Disney+. Nonetheless, Thorne’s introduction to the MCU was in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

It is uncertain who Anthony Ramos will be playing, but he is also confirmed to be starring in the production.

Avengers: Doomsday (May 1, 2026)

The original plan for Avengers 5, known as The Kang Dynasty, was to focus on the central antagonist, Kang the Conqueror. He first appeared as He Who Remains in Loki and later in Ant-Man 3. However, due to Jonathan Majors’ recent conviction for assault, there have been alterations to the project.

The role of antagonist is now being played by Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. Despite the death of Tony Stark, Victor Von Doom is still very much alive.

It is highly probable that Doomsday will directly lead into Secret Wars and include a large roster of characters. The presence of the Fantastic Four has been confirmed in both events.

Avengers: Secret Wars Release Date – May 7, 2027

The conclusion of Avengers: Secret Wars, which is expected to be released a year after Doomsday hits theaters, will mark the end of one of the MCU’s most impactful double whammies. It is reasonable to anticipate that Doomsday will end with a cliffhanger similar to Infinity War, setting the stage for the events in Secret Wars.

The Russos will once again be at the helm of both Avengers 5 and 6 as directors.

Untitled Vision Series (TBA 2026)

Vision is set to feature in his very own Disney+ series in 2026.

It has been confirmed that Vision will be getting his own series on Disney+, as reported by Variety. Paul Bettany will reprise his role in 2026, following the success of WandaVision. The exact timeline of the series, whether it takes place before or after WandaVision, is yet to be revealed.

Terry Matalas, the producer of Star Trek: Picard, has been chosen as the showrunner for the project. However, aside from this information, not much else is currently known about the project.

Shang-Chi 2 (TBA)

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
Marvel Studios

The Legend of the Ten Rings is getting a sequel.

The inclusion of martial arts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was brought about by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. In late 2020, Disney announced a multi-year contract with Destin Daniel Cretton, who will once again write and direct the sequel to Shang-Chi. As of now, there is no confirmed release date.

Both Simu Liu and Awkwafina are expected to reprise their roles, along with Meng’er Zhang as Shang-Chi’s sister, in the upcoming sequel. The post-credits scene in the first film hinted at potential interactions with the Avengers in the future, but the fate of the characters in the sequel remains unknown.

In an interview with Comic Book, Kevin Feige stated, “We have numerous ideas on how to continue the story and where to place the characters. It’s always a good sign when the audience is interested in not just the main character, but also the supporting cast and their roles in the film.”

“This movie, in particular, leaves us feeling encouraged because we believe the actors are truly exceptional and have immense potential for the future.”

Armor Wars (TBA)

Don Cheadle will return as War Machine in Armor Wars.

Development for Armor Wars can be traced back to 2011, when Don Cheadle first revealed that a War Machine film was in the works. After almost a decade, Kevin Feige announced that a series based on Armor Wars would be coming to Disney+, with Cheadle reprising his role as Rhodey.

Previously, the show had been described as a “classic Marvel story”depicting Tony Stark’s greatest fear becoming a reality – the consequences of his technology falling into the wrong hands. However, in 2022, it was revealed that the project would be adapted into a full-length feature film.

Spider-Man 4 (TBA)

Spider-Man: No Way Home
Sony Pictures

The third installment of the Homecoming trilogy, Spider-Man: No Way Home, served as a satisfying conclusion. In addition to reintroducing Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s versions of the web-slinging hero and their infamous foes, the film also left Tom Holland’s character in his rightful place: navigating the struggles of living alone in New York, struggling to make ends meet, and secretly patrolling the streets. It provided a fresh start for the beloved character.

Kevin Feige has confirmed that a fourth film in the series is currently in development. However, actor Tom Holland has been hesitant to confirm his return to the role. In an interview with Extra, Holland stated, “I am unsure if I will be a part of the next chapter. If I am, it is certainly very exciting, but if it is time for me to move on, I will do so with pride.”

Wonder Man (TBA)

Wonder Man
Marvel Comics

It’s unclear whether Wonder Man will be a Disney+ series or movie.

Destin Daniel Cretton, the director of Shang-Chi, is collaborating with Andrew Guest from Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Community to bring one of Marvel’s most ancient characters to television.

In 1964, Wonder Man, whose real name is Simon Williams, made his debut in the comics as a business rival of Tony Stark. He acquired his “iconic energy”abilities from Baron Zemo. Despite multiple conflicts with the Avengers, he ultimately became a member of the team and established its West Coast division.

Despite his strong connections to Vision and Scarlet Witch, it is uncertain if the character will have a significant role in the future of the franchise. As of now, there is no information about casting or a potential release date.

Eyes of Wakanda

Danai Gurira as Okoye
Marvel Studios

Wakanda’s Eyes is an upcoming Disney+ series. According to the synopsis, the show will focus on the history of Wakanda and the courageous warriors who were given the responsibility of retrieving hazardous vibranium artifacts from around the world. This will be their tale.

The upcoming show will be animated and will star Danai Gurira as Okoye, whom we have come to know and admire in the Black Panther franchise. It is being described as an origin story for Okoye and other Dora Milaje warriors in Wakanda.

Untitled Nova project (TBA)

New
Marvel Comics

Nova is a fan-favorite Marvel Comics hero who’ll debut in a TV series.

Despite not having announced any cast members, Marvel’s head of streaming, animation, and television Brad Winderbaum confirmed in March 2024 that they are still in the process of developing a Nova show with writer Sabir Pirzada, known for their work on Moon Knight.

During the Phase Zero interview, Winderbaum revealed that a new system has been implemented at Marvel Studios.

“Our current focus is similar to that of a traditional studio. We are actively working on developing multiple projects, some of which may not make it to production. One such project in development is Nova, which holds a special place in my heart. I have a strong attachment to the character of Rich Rider and I am hopeful that it will eventually make its way to the screen. As with any creative endeavor, there are always obstacles to overcome, but I am determined to bring Nova to life one day.”

It is highly anticipated by fans that the series will depict the beginnings of Richard Rider as Nova, a teenage resident of New York who receives a powerful cosmic helmet and uniform from a dying member of the Nova Corps. This military force, which was previously featured in both Guardians of the Galaxy films, operates on an intergalactic level.

These are the upcoming Marvel movies and shows that have been officially confirmed.
