Upcoming Marvel Phase 6 Projects and Release Dates

As Phase 5 nears its end, Marvel’s Phase 6 is on the horizon, ushering in a new era for the MCU. With projects like Secret Wars and the emergence of young Avengers, Marvel’s upcoming phase promises to be even more expansive.

Despite a string of new movies and series, the early magic of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has proven difficult to recapture, leaving hopes high for future releases.

Ant-Man 3 marked the beginning of Phase 5 and it will conclude with shows such as Daredevil: Born Again. The major event to anticipate after that will be Avengers: Secret Wars, which is expected to depict a clash between the X-Men movie universe and Earth-616.

Additionally, there are a plethora of upcoming Marvel movies and TV shows in Phase 6.

The arrival of the Fantastic Four debut marks the beginning of Phase 6, as the iconic Marvel team joins the ranks of the MCU.

The film features Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, and Julia Garner as Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer in starring roles.

Despite the absence of any plot details, it is possible that the film will take place in the 1960s before the team is involved in Secret Wars. This is supported by the official artwork (shown above) which suggests that the film may be a period piece.

Due to WandaVision’s positive reception, Disney enlisted Matt Shakman as the director after Jon Watts backed out.

Blade – November 7, 2025

Blade, scheduled as a Phase 5 project, is expected to be released in 2025, unless there are further delays.

Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali stars in the R-rated horror film as a half-vampire who is on a mission to track down and eliminate others like himself. The cast also includes Delroy Lindo, Aaron Pierre, and Mia Goth.

Ever since Marvel’s announcement of Blade, there have been numerous changes happening behind the scenes. Two directors have departed, and multiple rewrites have been made to the script.

As a result, the release date has been pushed back to 2025, effectively removing it from the list of Phase 5 projects.

Blade will embrace Marvel’s supernatural source material, including vampires, werewolves (although they have been featured before), and other monsters.

Avengers 5 Release Date (May 1, 2026)

The first team-up film since Endgame in 2019, Avengers 5 was originally named The Kang Dynasty.

Originally, Kang the Conqueror was planned to be the villain for both Phase 5 and Phase 6, but in December 2023, Jonathan Majors was let go from the role.

Marvel is currently recalibrating, so the story’s outcome remains uncertain. It is possible that the film will have a stronger connection to Secret Wars now that Kang’s potential involvement has been eliminated, unless the character is recast.

Being an Avengers film, it will reunite all the key members as they battle against the next threat that the multiverse presents. Ultimately, the story will lead us into Secret Wars.

The final confirmed Phase 6 projects, Avengers 6, will be released in May 2027.

Secret Wars is seeking to achieve the same level of action-packed entertainment as Endgame, as it brings the popular comic to life by depicting the conflict between heroes and villains on a battle world where they are compelled to engage in combat.

The culmination of all the multiverse drama will likely be the meeting point of the Fox X-Men, the Avengers, and Fantastic Four. Additionally, should Kang no longer be the main antagonist, there is a possibility that we may encounter Doctor Doom in Secret Wars.

Although the cast has not yet been officially announced, this massive celebration will serve as the conclusion to a two-part event similar to Infinity War and Endgame.

Phase 6 TV Shows

As of now, Disney has not officially announced any shows for Phase 6, but they are currently working on developing a few (such as Eyes of Wakanda, Wonder Man, and a series focused on Vision).

Despite this, there will still be a decrease in the number of these small screen stories. According to Kevin Feige, Marvel’s focus will now be on delivering a higher quality rather than a larger quantity.
