Upcoming Movie: Venom 3

In a remote corner of the superhero universe, distant from the glitz and glamour of Marvel films and their charismatic Spider-Man, resides Venom.

Following the intense destruction in Venom 2 and a quick appearance in the post-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Eddie Brock and Venom are left with unresolved matters to address in this upcoming movie, which serves as the conclusion to the character’s standalone trilogy.

Are you curious about who will be joining the adventure in the new movie and when the release date for Venom 3 is? Rest assured, we have all the information you need concerning The Last Dance.

When will Venom 3 be released?

The worldwide release of Venom 3 is set for October 25, 2024 in theaters.

The original release date for the film was set for July 11, 2024. However, due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, production was halted in June 2023, despite having already started principal photography.

Tom Hardy took to Instagram in November 2023 to announce that production on the movie had resumed following the strikes. The film’s release date was then changed back to its original date in October, after it had been previously pushed back to November 8.

Venom 3, the final installment in Sony Pictures’ series of Spider-Man-adjacent films, is set to be released in 2024. Following its release, Kraven the Hunter will make his debut on August 30, 2024, with Madame Web having already been released.

Is there a Venom 3 trailer?

The Venom trailer was released on June 3, 2024. You can watch it in its entirety below:

The recently released trailer provided viewers with their initial glimpse of the new film, as plot details were kept mostly secret before its debut. Nonetheless, it has since been revealed that the alien symbiotes from Venom’s homeworld are seeking to come to Earth, following the events of both Venom 2 and Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Therefore, Eddie and Venom are currently evading capture, as there is a mysterious group determined to eliminate all existing symbiotes on the planet and prevent any future ones from appearing.

Vemon: The Last Dance plot details

The title was revealed on March 13 and many fans have already made the connection to Michael Jordan’s career, as seen in the Netflix docuseries of the same name. As a result, it is expected that this will serve as a grand finale for Venom, with the movie likely to have a definite conclusion.

Despite being transported to another dimension in the Spider-Man No Way Home post-credit scene, it would be surprising if Brock’s involvement was not at least acknowledged in the upcoming Venom movie. However, it is best not to expect a Venom versus Spider-Man showdown.

During an interview with Screen Rant, director Andy Serkis expressed his thoughts on the potential for Venom to encounter Spider-Man. However, he also mentioned his interest in exploring other supervillains within the Ravencroft institution, citing the vast possibilities and potential for storytelling. He posed the question of which villains could potentially break out and wreak havoc, hinting at his desire to delve into this particular sandbox.

Venom: The story so far

Venom (2018):

A still from Venom
Sony Pictures

2018 was the release year of the original Venom movie.

In Marvel’s initial installment of their anti-superhero films, investigative journalist Eddie Brock is fired from his job for attempting to slander tech mogul Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed).

Drake’s sinister experiments involving symbiotes resulted in Brock crossing paths with Venom, a extraterrestrial being that relies on a human host for sustenance. Despite their initial differences, the duo joins forces to bring Drake to justice and discovers they have more in common than they initially believed.

Once the chaos has subsided, Brock pays a visit to incarcerated serial killer Cletus Kassidy (Woody Harrelson), a decision he may come to regret.

Venom 2 introduced Carnage,

After the events of Venom, Eddie Brock continues to stay in touch with Cletus Kassidy. Kassidy provides Brock with newsworthy stories to write about his criminal activities, but things take a dangerous turn when Kassidy tries to attack Brock. In response, Venom steps in to defend Brock.

Kassidy’s discovery of Brock’s hidden secret and a brief encounter with his blood prompts her to release the crazed symbiote Carnage into the world. As Kassidy’s troubled history resurfaces, she enlists the help of her childhood flame Frances Berrison (also known as Shriek) in their destructive rampage.

Despite being caught in the midst of Venom’s victory over Carnage, Detective Patrick Mulligan (Stephen Graham) may potentially undergo a symbiotic transformation of his own, potentially taking on the persona of Toxin in a future installment.

Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)

After the credits rolled in Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Eddie Brock found himself in the MCU 616 universe and was bewildered by the presence of Spider-Man and other members of the Avengers.

Prior to embarking on his search for Spider-Man, Brock is transported back to the Sony Pictures universe, as a result of Doctor Strange’s incantation aimed at restoring the multiverse (for the time being).
