Marvel Rivals has recently revealed that its closed beta for the PS5 will take place in July 2024. This exciting PvP shooter game features a fast-paced, free-to-play 6v6 format, reminiscent of the popular Overwatch. However, what sets Marvel Rivals apart is its use of beloved Marvel characters as both heroes and villains.
In the past, they have unveiled numerous superheroes, but during Sony’s State of Play livestream, which featured the Marvel Rivals closed beta trailer for the PS5, they announced two new iconic characters: Venom and Adam Warlock.
In addition to introducing two new characters, they also revealed the TOKYO 2099: Spider-Islands map, offering exciting and high-speed battles with beloved superheroes and supervillains. They even provided a demonstration of Storm using her ultimate ability to destroy several structures.
Did anyone else get a sense of MVC influence from Venom’s ultimate?
In order to show gratitude to PS5 players who support Marvel Rivals, they will receive an exclusive Scarlet Spider costume simply by logging into the game on their PS5 when it is released.
The development of new characters is ongoing. In addition to Adam Warlock and Venom, the game already boasts 18 characters, including beloved Marvel icons like Iron Man, Spider-Man, Hulk, and Black Panther. It also features popular X-Men characters like Storm and Magneto.
It would be intriguing to witness their next addition to the game. With the imminent arrival of Deadpool and Wolverine, which happens to coincide with the PS5 Closed Beta in the same month, my choices for who should be added next are clear!
