Upcoming Pokemon GO Spotlight Hours in May 2024
When are Spotlight Hours?
Spotlight Hours occur every Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM (local time) in Pokemon GO. Even if you forget which Pokemon and bonuses are featured, as long as you open the app between 6:00 and 7:00 PM on Tuesdays, you can still take advantage of the Spotlight Hour and catch some of the featured Pokemon.
Spotlight Hour: May 7, 2024
The event will take place on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM (local time).
Featured Pokemon
Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan will be the featured Pokemon during May 7’s Spotlight Hour. Shiny versions of both Pokemon will be available to encounter.
Both of these Pokemon are in their final evolutionary stages, however their pre-evolution form, Tyrogue, requires 25 Tyrogue Candy to evolve into one of three possible forms: Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, or Hitmontop, randomly.
Spotlight Bonus
During the upcoming Spotlight Hour, you will be able to receive twice the amount of Transfer Candy. This benefit will be applicable to all Pokemon transferred within the hour, making it the ideal opportunity to clean up your Pokemon storage if you have been planning to do so.

On Tuesday, May 14, 2024, the event will take place from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the local time.

During the May 14 Spotlight Hour, trainers can encounter Abra, including its shiny form, in the wild.
Abra can evolve into Kadabra with just 25 Abra Candy, and then into Alakazam with either 100 more Abra Candy or through trading with another trainer. In total, a total of 125 Abra Candy is needed to fully evolve an Abra into Alakazam. The upcoming Spotlight Hour is a great chance to utilize Pinap Berries when catching wild Abra and gather more Candy.
Spotlight Bonus
During the May 14 Spotlight Hour, the active bonus will be double (2x) Evolution XP. This bonus applies to all evolution, not just evolving Abra. For those currently completing the Glitz and Glam Special Research, it may be beneficial to save the “Evolve 5 Pokemon” task in the fifth (5/6) set for this Spotlight Hour in order to maximize XP gained.
Spotlight Hour: May 21, 2024
The event will take place on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the local time zone.
Featured Pokemon
Elgyem will be the featured Pokemon for the Spotlight Hour on May 21. Players can also find the shiny version of Elgyem in Pokemon GO.
Beheeyem can be evolved from Elgyem by using 50 Elgyem Candy.
Spotlight Bonus
Spotlight Hour: May 28, 2024
The event is scheduled for Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM (local time).
Featured Pokemon
The Pokemon featured during the May 28 Spotlight Hour is Mareanie. However, it is the only Pokemon in this month’s lineup that does not have a shiny form available.
In order to transform Mareanie into Toxapex, you will require 50 Mareanie Candy.
Spotlight Bonus
During May 28’s Spotlight Hour, the event bonus for Catch XP will be doubled (2x). This bonus will still apply even if you catch a Pokemon other than Mareanie.
