[UPDATE] Fortnite Ballistic Release Faces Matchmaking Issues; Developers Actively Seeking Solutions

Fortnite’s Ballistic Game Mode Faces Matchmaking Errors

As Fortnite continues to evolve, the recent launch of the highly anticipated 5v5 game mode, Ballistic, has not been without its challenges. Players eager to dive into the action found themselves facing significant server issues upon entering the game’s early access phase. The excitement quickly turned into frustration as many users encountered matchmaking errors.

Server Status and Player Experience

Numerous players reported difficulties when trying to join Ballistic, with a variety of matchmaking errors hindering access. The official Fortnite Status account on @FortniteStatus acknowledged the problem, stating that the team is working diligently to resolve these issues. While an exact timeline for a fix remains unclear, countless players are left waiting in lobbies, eager to engage with the new mode.

Personal Experiences with Matchmaking Errors

From my own experience, I encountered the error message: “Matchmaking Error #1, Unknown Error, Maybe try again? (match.failed_to_ontain_link_code.404)” . This led me to check social media channels, where I discovered that I wasn’t alone. A fellow player, identified as @waxpen_ on X, posed the question if anyone else from NA East was facing the same matchmaking issues in Ballistic.

After restarting the game, I was hit with yet another issue, this time receiving “Matchmaking Error #2, We failed the cook request for the client. invalid_json.” Clearly, the matchmaking for Fortnite Ballistic was still not functioning.

Where to Find Updates

The Epic Games server status page has confirmed that they are investigating the matchmaking issues plaguing Fortnite. The page updates players on their status efforts, stating: “Investigating – We’re aware that players may be experiencing matchmaking errors for several experiences in Fortnite, and we will provide an update when this has also been resolved.”

One frustrated user, @hollands118, expressed their discontent on X, noting the irony of a newly released mode facing immediate connectivity problems.

As players eagerly await effective solutions, community discussions continue to highlight the need for stable server performance, particularly with the launch of new content. For the latest news and updates on downtime, players should keep checking Fortnite’s official communication channels.
