Update: Jujutsu Kaisen goes on hiatus due to Gege Akutami’s sudden illness

The creators of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga have announced a new hiatus due to Gege Akutami’s unexpected illness.

The Shinjuku Showdown Arc of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga is currently in its final phase. This highly anticipated arc features the most thrilling fight of the entire series, starting with the epic showdown between Gojo and Sukuna and continuing as all sorcerers join forces to defeat the strongest enemy.

The most recent installment of Chapter 261 introduces a major twist in JJK as Yuta unexpectedly takes control of Gojo’s body. Despite his willingness to sacrifice everything for victory, the upcoming Chapter 262, which is only seven pages long, continues the intense battle.

Despite the bad news, a leaker revealed that Akutami Gege had fallen ill, resulting in a two-week break for the Jujutsu Kaisen manga.

It is highly probable that Gege was unable to finish Chapter 262 before taking a break. Despite fans eagerly anticipating the continuation of the fight, particularly after the suspenseful ending in Chapter 216, they have also shared their worries for the mangaka’s well-being.

A fan expressed their thoughts on the recent developments by stating, “With a color double spread, volume cover, WSJ magazine cover and a chapter, it’s clear that he needed this break. Hopefully, he takes some time to rest.”

“Another person wrote, expressing their hope for his speedy recovery: ‘I wish for him to feel better soon.’”

Despite the immense amount of hate that the mangaka has received following Gojo’s death, fans have quickly come to his defense. In response to the backlash, one fan expressed disappointment, stating, “It’s disheartening to see some of you wishing ill upon this man. Fiction should not be taken so seriously and it’s not something to joke about. I hope Gege has a quick recovery and is able to rest.”

The upcoming chapter will continue to explore the conflict between Yuta and Sukuna in the domain. Stay updated for the release date and potential spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 262.
