In January 2020, after the funeral for the deceased had taken place and family members had departed from Goo Ha-ra’s residence in Cheongdam-dong, it was reported that a man had broken into the late female singer’s home and stolen her safe.

The burglar attempted to guess the front door’s password, and then proceeded to enter the house effortlessly through the second floor veranda, as if he was already familiar with the layout of the house. He then took only the safe from the closet and made his exit.

The lawyer overseeing the case disclosed that the safe contained jewelry, investment contracts, and used cell phones belonging to Goo Ha-ra. Despite a nine-month investigation by the police, the thief was never apprehended.

During an appearance on the show “Unanswered Questions,”Goo Ha-ra’s brother shared a memory from the past. He remembered that 49 days after his sister’s passing, he went to her house and was informed by her friend that the safe was missing. He then spent the entire night searching for CCTV footage. However, he discovered that the CCTV had been deliberately cut off and covered with leaves by the thief, leaving behind only one piece of evidence.
