In January 2024, Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga held the top two spots for highest-selling manga series. Despite being crowned the top-selling manga of the new year, Jujutsu Kaisen later lost its throne and experienced a decline in sales.
Without any more delay, the following are the current best-selling manga of the week, listed in order:
Despite Jujutsu Kaisen’s successful release of volume 25 on January 4, 2024, its sales were overshadowed by the releases of new volumes from other popular manga such as World Trigger and Black Butler. This demonstrates the significant impact that new releases have on sales rankings.
Despite experiencing an overall increase in sales this month, Frieren was unable to surpass the new volume releases of World Trigger and Black Butler, causing it to drop in rank. It is worth noting that Black Butler’s manga has gained renewed attention due to the upcoming release of a new anime adaptation after a decade, resulting in a significant spike in its sales.
Given that both Boruto and Kagurabachi are still relatively new and have only released their second volume, it is impressive how well they performed this week. Within just four days of being on sale, both manga managed to secure a spot in the top ten best-selling list.
Despite being relatively new, Oshi No Ko has consistently maintained its position in the top ten best-selling charts. Similarly, Kekkaishi No Ichirinka and Kizumono No Hanayome, both romance anime, have successfully broken through and become top-selling titles.
Based on the current statistics, it is difficult to anticipate the highest-selling manga charts as they constantly change with the release of each chapter. Various external factors, including anime adaptations, current trends, and plot twists, can greatly impact sales and rankings.
Only time will tell if next week’s ranking will differ from this week’s.
