Update on Oshi no Ko Season 2 Episode 10

On Wednesday, August 28, 2024, the release of Oshi no Ko season 2 episode 10 in Japan was announced to be delayed by one week from its original date of Wednesday, September 4, 2024. The new episode will now be aired on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at the same time. In place of the episode, a recap of the second season will be aired on September 4.

The announcement was made through the official X account for the anime series (formerly known as Twitter), which has not provided any explanation for the delay of episode 10 in season 2 of Oshi no Ko at the time of writing this article. However, various reliable general anime news accounts on the platform have reported that production problems are the cause and that additional time is required to complete the remaining episodes of the season.

It is also improbable for a reason to be given as it was not included in the initial announcement. Generally, studios do not address the cause of delays after they have occurred, either providing an explanation at the time of the announcement or not at all. Although this is not always the case, fans hoping for a specific explanation from the franchise will most likely be disappointed.

Fortunately, viewers can take solace in the fact that the delay of Oshi no Ko season 2 episode 10 is only for a week and not indefinite. Additionally, as the series transitions from the 2.5D Stage Play arc to the Private arc in the ninth episode, a recap release should not be too disappointing for fans.

The second season of Oshi no Ko is a follow-up to the TV anime adaptation of the manga series by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari. The first season premiered in April 2023 and consisted of 11 episodes with a 90-minute first episode. The manga was first published in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine and is currently ongoing.

The plot centers around OBGYN Goro Amamiya, who is responsible for delivering the child of Ai Hoshino, a famous pop star whom he has always admired. Tragically, Goro is killed on the night of Ai’s birth, only to be reincarnated as her son Aqua. Alongside him is Sabrina, a former patient and fan of Ai who has also been reborn as Ruby. However, tragedy strikes again when Ai is murdered by a deranged fan, who is revealed to be their own father. In order to seek revenge, Aqua must infiltrate the entertainment industry and track down their father’s true identity.
