In the Anime Royale tier list above, we have ranked each unit based on its rarity. Each rarity has a distinct tier since the DPS disparity among rarities is exponential. For instance, Aligator, Nemo, and Itchy fall short compared to Manara, yet they offer necessary utility: Itchy excels in shredding shields and can target air units, Aligator provides substantial slowing in full AoE, and Nemo serves as a strong farming unit. More insights are detailed below.

S+ Tier Anime Royale Units

  • Friend — Friend is arguably the top unit in the game currently. Her DPS surpasses that of many mythics. Additionally, she features full AoE, hybrid capabilities, and an exceptional range.
  • Virtual Sniper — The second secret unit in Anime Royale, Virtual Sniper, is equally powerful as Friend. She boasts a full AoE attack with a relatively high SPA, combined with unparalleled range and DMG.
  • Virtual Swordmaster [Ultimate] — Virtual Swordmaster [Ultimate] may even surpass some secret units with his over-the-top DPS, alongside outstanding range and attack radius.
  • Game Master (Serious) — This version of Game Master is a superior form of the regular Game Master, making it one of the most essential units in the current meta.
  • Leafy [Fairy] — Leafy [Fairy] features a cone AoE attack with solid range and DPS but lacks utility, placing her slightly below Game Master (Serious).
  • Freeze [Final] — As a critical end-game shield shredder, Freeze [Final] is a hill unit with a multi-hit attack, remarkable range, and a substantial AoE. Due to prolonged attack channels, his SPA feels almost negligible.
  • Ulquioro (Second) — Ulquioro (Second) stands out as one of the top DPS mythics in the game. He is a hybrid with decent SPA, extensive AoE, and one of the highest ranges available.
  • Lawlight — Lawlight is recognized as the best farming unit in the game, essential for playing in Infinite mode.
  • Nemo — Nemo excels as a farming unit for Story mode and raids, as she scales up in power much faster than Lawlight.

S Tier Anime Royale Units

  • Alize — Alize provides outstanding DPS for a non-evo mythic, paired with great range, SPA, and upgrade costs. She might be considered the best non-evo mythic currently.
  • Virtual Swordmaster [Awakened] — With solid DPS and a multi-hit line AoE attack, Virtual Swordmaster [Awakened] excels at breaking through shields, making her one of the top non-evo mythics.
  • Stabs — A 1-placement full AoE mythic, Stabs performs exceptionally well in Infinite mode and can target flying enemies as well. His multi-hit attack also stuns, adding utility.
  • Manara — With excellent range, DPS, and one of the best damage-over-time effects in Anime Royale, Manara’s maximized cone AoE attack can cover a vast area, hitting flying foes too.
  • Game Master — Game Master is a hybrid burn mythic with considerable DPS and a full AoE attack, making him effective against shielded enemies.
  • Virtual Swordswoman — Offering a hybrid unit with a large AoE attack, good range, and impressive DPS, Virtual Swordswoman’s only drawback is her limited placements.
  • Leafy — Leafy’s line attack effectively targets shields, and she’s a hybrid unit, making her valuable even at zero upgrades.
  • Jotero — Jotero is an excellent support option, capable of stunning, knocking back, and slowing down enemies with solid DPS, though limited to ground targets.
  • Keneki — Keneki excels at shielding enemies initially, and upon max upgrade, he transforms into a high DPS unit with impressive damage and low SPA.
  • Aligator — Aligator stands as the second-best support unit in Anime Royale, being a hybrid with full AoE slowing and a wide range, despite a less than ideal SPA.

A Tier Anime Royale Units

  • Itchy — Itchy is arguably the premier legendary unit, a hill-type character that effectively shreds enemy shields while dealing respectable damage.
  • Microw — As the strongest legendary unit in pure DPS, Microw features good AoE range and can target aerial enemies. However, his high placement and upgrade costs limit his effectiveness outside of Infinite.
  • Freeze — With outstanding Story mode utility, Freeze is cheap to place, easy to upgrade, and his DPS shines. Fully upgraded, he can also target flying foes.
  • Goko Dark — A dependable hill unit until you acquire Itchy, Goko Dark lacks multi-hit or burn attributes once fully upgraded, making him less effective against shielded flying units.
  • Geo — Geo is a solid legendary with a long line AoE attack, though others like Microw and Frieza are better choices for Infinite gameplay.
  • Ulquorio — Known for his evolution, Ulquorio is a powerhouse, featuring one of the highest DPS stats among legendary units with an expansive line AoE attack.
  • Kokoin — Likely the best DPS epic for Story mode, Kokoin possesses a multi-hit attack, outstanding DPS, and cost-effective placements and upgrades.
  • Kekeshi — Kekeshi can stun enemies, providing solid support with reliable DPS, capable of soloing through most Story sections.

B Tier Anime Royale Units

  • Zonitsu — Beyond his stun ability, Zonitsu offers little utility, ranking lower than even Sosuke (Kirin).
  • Sosoke (Kirin) — Often considered the worst legendary, Sosoke (Kirin) offers poor damage, limited placements, and lackluster range. His stats are the only reason to choose him over an epic.
  • Netsu — Similarly, Netsu ranks among the weakest legendaries. Although he applies burn effectively, he lacks impactful capability overall.
  • Klai — Klai shows decent DPS for an epic and can utilize a full AoE attack when maxed, making him fairly viable.
  • Pickle — A reliable epic hill unit with multi-hit attacks and commendable DPS, however, his limited placements make him less favorable than Kokoin.
  • Virtual Swordsman — One of the strongest rare units, Virtual Swordsman has exceptional range, solid DPS, and an effective full AoE attack when fully upgraded.
  • Noroto — As the best rare DPS for Story mode, Noroto’s low upgrade costs allow him to handle most stages competently, although he needs assistance from a hill unit against aerial enemies.

C Tier Anime Royale Units

  • Inusuke — Clearly the weakest epic tower, Inusuke’s ground-only capabilities fall behind due to insufficient DPS and range.
  • Sosoke — An effective rare DPS unit for Infinite with strong upgrades and a powerful multi-hit attack when maxed.
  • Vegetable — Having a vast range for a rare tower and a multi-hit attack, Vegetable is a reasonable shield-breaker.
  • Fire Leg — Fully AoE when maxed with decent DPS and four placements, Fire Leg’s burn effect successfully deals with ground shields.
  • Goko — Provides multi-hit functionality, making him a good option against shields.

D Tier Anime Royale Units

  • Virtual Swordgirl — Virtual Swordgirl lacks any compelling features that would put her above her competition, such as Virtual Swordsman or Noroto.
  • Ryko — With a cone AoE and good DPS for a rare unit, Ryko remains costly in terms of placement and upgrades.
  • Roro — Roro has decent DPS, but his small AoE and high placement costs make him suboptimal compared to other rare units.
  • Tojiro — With poor range and DPS, Tojiro is arguably the least effective rare unit in Anime Royale.

This concludes our tier list for all units in Anime Royale. For insights on the current meta in other tower defense games, including Anime Defenders, Five Nights TD, and Special Anime Defense, be sure to check out the Guides section on Twinfinite.
