On August 16, Fantagio, the agency representing Weki Meki, made an announcement on the group’s official fan cafe. They stated that after seven years of receiving immense love and support from fans, Weki Meki has decided, following extensive and serious discussions with the agency, to conclude their official group activities on August 8, 2024.
The agency announced that Ji Suyeon, Choi Yoojung, and Kim Doyeon are currently considering their options carefully in order to make the best decisions for their careers as artists. In the meantime, after thorough discussions, Elly, Sei, Lua, Rina, and Lucy have come to the decision to terminate their exclusive contracts.
“We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Elly, Sei, Lua, Rina, and Lucy for their exceptional accomplishments as members of Weki Meki. While their group activities may have come to an end, we remain committed to supporting their future endeavors. We kindly ask for your ongoing interest and encouragement as the Weki Meki members embark on their next chapter.”
In 2017, a new girl group called Weki Meki made their debut with eight members. The group gained significant attention due to the inclusion of Choi Yoojung and Kim Doyeon from I.O.I, as well as Elly and Sei, who had previously participated in Mnet’s ‘Produce 101’ Season 1.

Moreover, Ji Suyeon, Choi Yoojung, and Kim Doyeon are currently engaged in thorough deliberations to ensure the best path for their careers as artists. In contrast, Elly, Sei, Lua, Rina, and Lucy have reached the decision to conclude their exclusive contracts after extensive discussions.
