Updates to Weapon Balance in MW3 & Warzone Season 4 Reloaded

The midpoint of Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 4 has arrived with the introduction of Season 4 Reloaded. This update brings significant buffs and nerfs to popular weapons.

When Season 4 began, fans of Call of Duty and Warzone were ecstatic to learn that the KAR98K would be making a comeback in the game. This rifle was a dominant force in the game’s early stages and is closely associated with the golden era of Verdansk.

Despite initial popularity, the sentiment towards the KAR and Superi 46 SMG duo has shifted as players have become fatigued with its dominance over the meta. While some have attempted to use alternative weapons, this pair continues to be the go-to choice in most lobbies.

According to the Modern Warfare 3 developers, the KAR will undergo changes in Season 4 Reloaded which will result in a nerf. They have now revealed the specific changes made, which include reducing the Max Damage Range and Bullet Velocity.

Moreover, the developers have adjusted the Kar’s aim assist to align with that of sniper rifles, resulting in a nerf.

Despite that, several SMGs and Assault Rifles, such as the Rival-9, FJX Horus, BAL 27, and MCW, have received buffs.

The KAR98K has, finally, been nerfed.

Great news for those who have adopted the MTZ-556! The AR, which was predicted to be the top gun in Season 4 Reloaded, has received a buff to its bullet velocity.

Just like before, certain modifications will only apply to Warzone, while others are exclusive to multiplayer. Keep this in mind when adjusting your loadouts.

Warzone Balancing Changes in Season 4 Reloaded

Assault Rifles

BAL 27 remains the same.

  • The Lower Torso Modifier has been raised to 1.1x, from its previous value of 1x.

MCW remains unchanged.

  • The minimum damage has been raised to 24, previously it was 22.
  • The bullet velocity has been raised to 750m/s, an increase from its previous speed of 710m/s.

Holger 556 is still the same.

  • Near-Mid Damage Range increased to 60.96 meters, up from 50.8
  • The bullet velocity has been raised to 720m/s, an increase from its previous speed of 690m/s.

MTZ 556 remains unchanged.

  • The bullet velocity has been raised to 720m/s, an increase from its previous speed of 690m/s.

M16 (Modern Warfare II)

  • Like Patriot AMP
    • Mid Damage Range increased to 53.34 meters, up from 48.26.

Types of Submachine Guns

  • HOW Scimitar Kit
    • Max Damage Range increased to 15.08 meters, up from 13.71.
    • Near-Mid Damage Range increased to 27.22 meters, up from 24.
    • Mid Damage Range increased to 41.91 meters, up from 41.14.

Forward

  • The Lower Torso Modifier has been raised to 1.1x from its previous value of 1x.

Competitor-9

  • Max Damage Range has been raised to 12.7 meters, an increase from 12.19.
  • The Near-Mid Damage Range has been extended to 25.4 meters, a slight increase from its previous range of 24.3 meters.

Battle Rifles

The alphanumeric code MTZ 762 remains unchanged.

  • The maximum damage range has been raised to 25.4 meters, which is an increase from the previous range of 19.05 meters.
  • The Near-Mid Damage Range has been extended to 48.26 meters, an increase from 40.64 meters.

Types of Light Machine Guns

The RAAL MG is also known as MWII.

  • The minimum damage has been raised from 27 to 28.

The Sakin MG 38 (MWII) is unchanged.

  • The minimum damage has been raised to 25, previously it was set at 24.

H Rapp (MWII)

  • The Leg Modifier has been adjusted to 1x, an increase from its previous value of. 95x.

  • The Near-Mid Damage Range has been raised to 50.8 meters, an increase from the previous distance of 48.2 meters.

Marksman Rifles

The Lockwood MK2 (MWII) is still being used.

    • Increased sprint to fire speed from to 100ms, up from 35ms.

The weapon known as KAR98K remains unchanged.

  • The controller aim assist properties were adjusted to be in line with those of the Sniper Rifle class.
  • The maximum damage range has been reduced to 55.88 meters, a decrease from 63.5 meters.
  • The bullet velocity has been reduced to 620m/s, a decrease from the previous 660m/s.

    • Increased damage range benefit from 35% to 65%.
