On May 9th, rumors began circulating on multiple online forums that an internal announcement had been made within a company, encouraging employees to vote for a contestant on Mnet’s audition program “I-Land 2″in order to show support for her debut.
The notification was distributed to all staff members, informing them that the child of the CEO of OOO branch, A, will be taking part in Mnet’s audition program ‘I-Land 2’. Employees were encouraged to support A’s debut by participating in the audition voting, with one vote allowed per day. The notification also included the dates of the voting period, which will be from May 3rd to 12th.
After the internal announcement was made public, netizens began to criticize the use of power. They voiced their concerns with comments such as “Doesn’t this constitute power abuse?”and “Was an urgent notice really necessary?”Some even questioned whether it was a form of promotion or coercion, but were impressed nonetheless.
In the midst of the show, the creators of “I-Land 2″stressed the importance of fairness in the voting procedure. During the April 18th broadcast, they assured viewers that the aggregation and calculation of votes would be free from any interference by the production team. In order to ensure this, they have enlisted the expertise of external professional organization ‘Samil PwC’ to verify the process. Additionally, they expressed their commitment to producing a high-quality program.
“The show “I-Land 2″is a joint project between CJ ENM and producer Teddy, serving as an Mnet audition program. It will feature 24 trainees from the talent agency WAKEONE, and after competing, only 12 will be chosen to make their debut.”
