Fans of the anime Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War were taken aback by the unveiling of Uryu Ishida’s Quincy Vollständig form. This moment held added significance since it was not depicted in the original manga and was only alluded to in Ryogo Narita’s spin-off light novel series, Can’t Fear Your Own World.
However, many viewers within the community speculate that what we saw of Uryu Ishida’s Vollständig might only represent a partial version. Unlike other Quincies, such as Bazz-B and the Bambi sisters, who exhibit a halo known as Heiligenschein post Vollständig activation, Uryu’s transformation lacked this feature.
This leads to two possibilities: either Uryu has not tapped into the complete capabilities of his Vollständig powers, or he intentionally refrained from revealing more strength in his battle with Ichigo Kurosaki. Regardless, the Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War anime might be setting the stage for Uryu to unleash the full power of his Vollständig against Jugram Haschwalth in later narrative arcs.
Note: The following article features speculations and significant spoilers relating to the Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War arc.
Potential Activation of Uryu’s Complete Against Jugram Haschwalth
In the Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, Quincies’ Vollständig form showcases numerous characteristics. It is a transformation that succeeds the Letz Stil, which Quincies often regard as a remnant of the past. While the appearance of each Quincy’s Vollständig may vary, a common trait is the presence of a halo, known as Heiligenschein, that hovers above their heads.
This Vollständig transformation grants Quincies an ethereal, angelic look, mostly featuring wings and the aforementioned halo. Yet, during the recent episode of the Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War anime, Uryu Ishida’s version came without a halo. It raises eyebrows, especially given that Tite Kubo, who oversaw the design of Uryu’s Vollständig, would omit such a crucial element.
Hence, it is conceivable that Uryu Ishida either could not fully activate his Vollständig or chose to withhold his complete power. This begs the question: if he refrained from using it against Ichigo, who exactly would he unleash his full strength against?
Readers of the manga are aware that Uryu faces Jugram Haschwalth during the climactic phases of the Thousand-Year Blood War arc, allowing Ichigo an opportunity to escape. In that confrontation, Uryu utilized his Schrift, A: Antithesis. Since the Vollständig form is a new addition in the anime, his battle did not feature it.
Thus, the Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War anime may have crafted an opportunity for Kubo and the production team to have Uryu awaken the true potential of his Quincy Vollständig against Jugram, complementing his Antithesis ability with additional firepower.
It seems unlikely for Uryu to reveal his full capabilities against Yhwach since the concluding battle centers around Ichigo Kurosaki, his allies, Sosuke Aizen, and Yhwach himself, who aim to thwart the Quincy King’s devastating plans.
Consequently, the ideal moment for Uryu to tap into his Vollständig would likely be during his confrontation with Jugram, rather than against Yhwach. However, this remains a possibility and has yet to be confirmed by official sources.
Wrapping Up
The excitement surrounding Uryu Ishida’s Vollständig form has already created a significant buzz among anime enthusiasts. If what we’ve witnessed so far is merely a glimpse of his true potential, it leaves fans eager to discover the full extent of his Quincy powers.
