US Billboard Announces First K-pop Partnership with Kakao Entertainment

On April 17th, a strategic partnership was signed between Billboard (President Mike Van) and Billboard Korea (CEO & Publisher Kim Yuna) with Kakao Entertainment (Co-CEOs Kwon Kisoo and Jang Yoonjoong). This partnership aims to enhance the global impact of K-pop.

This is the inaugural partnership where Billboard headquarters has directly collaborated with a K-pop related entity. The partnership will involve Billboard, Billboard Korea, and Kakao Entertainment in establishing a comprehensive cooperation system to expedite the international reach and impact of K-pop. It is anticipated to pave the way for the K-pop industry, which is cultivating a devoted fan base and solidifying its global presence, to make a new stride in the global market.
