The Valorant community is eagerly anticipating the release of Episode 9, as they are curious about potential additions or changes that may be included in the upcoming 9.00 update.
Despite the initial announcement from the devs that they do not intend to make significant changes to the Agent meta, they have confirmed certain adjustments that will result in decreased popularity for one Duelist.
Below are the initial patch notes for the 9.00 Valorant update.
Release Details
Riot has officially announced that the highly-anticipated 9.00 update will be available in Valorant on June 26 at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET / 2 PM BST. Additionally, the developers have revealed that, starting with Episode 9 Act 1, future updates for the game will be implemented on Wednesdays instead of Tuesdays.
Abyss Arrives at Competitive Map Pool
As previously announced, the 9.00 update will introduce the new map Abyss into the competitive map pool, enabling players to play on it in Valorant’s ranked mode, as confirmed in the previous update.
Adjustments for Agents
The developers have acknowledged that there are notable alterations to Iso due to the actions of the rioters. The 8.11 update introduced intriguing improvements to the Chinese Duelist, but the team believes that certain changes may have been excessive. As a result, they intend to make a significant adjustment to his [E] Double Tap in order to balance him.
Riot will nerf Iso’s [E] in order to avoid Agent spam in ranked mode.
Iso
- [E] Double Tap:
- Will no longer reset the ability every time Iso gets a double kill
- Reduce shield duration from 20 sec. to 12 sec.
It should be noted that these updates will not be available on consoles next week. They will be included in update 9.01 along with the fix for the Neon slide bug, as confirmed by rioter Penguin on Twitter (https://twitter.com/penguinVALORANT/status/1803888988136313067).
At the time of writing, these are the only confirmed changes to Agents. We will continue to update this section as Riot unveils any further adjustments.
Console ranked mode
The 9.00 update for Valorant will bring good news for console players, as the highly anticipated ranked mode will finally be introduced. This will allow players to embark on their competitive journey in Valorant and strive for the prestigious Immortal rank.
We will keep the details of the ranked mode on consoles up-to-date as soon as Riot provides more information about it.
