Riot Games’ announcement of the RGX 3.0 bundle, which includes just three skins, has left Valorant players feeling conflicted due to its price tag of almost $70.
Riot initially hyped up the launch of the third version of the RGX weapon skin bundle, which included the highly anticipated Outlaw skin on July 15. However, it was later disclosed that the bundle would only consist of three skins instead of the usual five, as stated in the official announcement.
For a price of approximately $70, players can purchase the RGX Outlaw, Sheriff, and Karambit knife in Valorant Points, totaling 6,700.
Upon initial observation, many believed the cost to be a bargain in comparison to other bundled options. However, upon further examination, the inclusion of only three skins reveals a significantly inflated price.
“According to the top comment on the Reddit thread, Riot Games seems to have the freedom to set their prices as they please, knowing that people will still be willing to pay for it. The 6700 price may have been a compromise, as they likely wanted to charge even more but settled on this amount due to its potential

The last time Valorant released an RGX bundle was two years ago, during Episode 4. This bundle, which was priced at $90, featured a Classic, Phantom, Operator, Spectre, and Butterfly knife.
In the RGX 3.0 bundle, the total price of $70 includes the knife as well as three skins. However, for bundles that include five skins, the cost of the knife is deducted from the total, resulting in an additional $20 charge for the extra two skins.
To promote other Valorant skin bundles, Riot has employed comparable strategies by offering “free”cards and sprays when purchasing the bundle as a whole.
“According to one commenter, this pricing strategy is not a new concept. For example, Magepunk 3.0 offered 2 skins and a knife at a cost of 6127 VP, with a higher discount of 30%. However, the cards were not provided for free. Similarly, Xerofang also employed discounts to reach a total of 6700 VP.”
The overall consensus is that players would have liked Valorant to offer more than three skins in the third RGX iteration in order to justify the price.
