Valorant Update 9.00 Patch Notes: Iso Nerf, New Premier Division, Competitive on Consoles, and More

The release of Valorant patch 9.00 marks the beginning of Episode 9 Act 1. Additionally, the Iso has been slightly nerfed and a new division has been added to the Premier game mode. See below for a comprehensive list of changes in the Valorant update 9.00 patch notes.

One of the significant buffs implemented in patch 8.11 was for Iso, a Duelist. This change transformed him into a formidable Agent in ranked, a complete turnaround from his previous state. However, in patch 9.00, the Chinese Duelist received a slight nerf due to a surge in win rates.

The introduction of the Invite division in Premier mode alters the qualification criteria for VCT Challengers, and players can now access Valorant Competitive mode on consoles.

Valorant Update 9.00 Patch Notes

Effective immediately with patch 9.00, Iso’s Double Tap duration has been shortened to 12 seconds from the previous 20 seconds. Furthermore, his Signature kill reset will no longer be available.

On consoles, the health of Sova’s Owl Drone has been increased from 60 to 100. Additionally, the new map, Abyss, has been added to the pool of Ranked maps.

The recently added Invite division in Premier has implemented stringent measures to ensure that teams do not face the same opponent more than once during a Stage in their weekly matches. This protection is in place to prevent any potential rematches.

If you are unable to find a match during the queue window, you will receive a Bye. Each Bye results in a match win and 100 points. Losses will not award any points and the Finals in playoffs will consist of Best of 3 matchups.

Computer

Iso is still present.

We are pleased with Iso’s improved ability to enter the front lines of his team with confidence. However, we aim to improve the strategic use of his Double Tap ability by increasing thoughtfulness and consideration when activating it. This will enhance the effectiveness of counterplay tactics, such as breaking his shield or denying the Double Tap orbs. In order to achieve this, we have decided to decrease the duration of the Double Tap buff and eliminate the refresh that previously occurred after securing two kills. Moving forward, Iso will only be able to extend the Double Tap buff by shooting the orbs that appear during its active period.

  • Double Tap (E): Duration: 20s >>> 12s
