The release of the Venom 3 trailer has sparked a lot of confusion among fans, with one particular cameo appearance leading to speculation about a potential unexpected crossover with the MCU.
Three years have passed since the last time Tom Hardy and his symbiotic alien appeared on the big screen, but fans can anticipate the release of Venom 3 in theaters later this year.
The Last Dance, officially concluding the trilogy, is expected to fulfill its promise based on its title. However, the recently released trailer has left fans confused about the plot.
Despite Chiwetel Ejiofor’s appearance, some are now speculating whether there will be a MCU crossover, as he has previously portrayed Karl Mordo in both Doctor Strange and its upcoming sequel, the Multiverse of Madness.
One YouTube comment reads, “So, the trailer suggests that the Symbiote in the MCU was never actually left behind?”Another commenter adds, “That’s what I’m trying to figure out. This doesn’t make sense to me.”
In Marvel comics, Mordo from Earth-92131 attempted to release the malevolent demon Dormammu by utilizing a probe containing the venom symbiote. However, the probe ultimately fell into the possession of Eddie Brock himself.
Despite Eddie’s appearance in the post-credits scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, the MCU has not officially confirmed the trilogy’s inclusion in its universe.

Fans have already noticed a problem with this detail. Another fan also agreed, questioning how the symbiote’s presence in the MCU would explain its pursuit of Eddie in his own universe.
Another individual reasoned, “Eddie did not leave the entire symbiote in the MCU, just a small portion of it.”
Some fans also speculate that this could be a significant element in Spider-Man 4, in addition to potentially being a storyline for Venom 3.
“Is it possible that Karl Mordo will play a major role in Spider-Man acquiring the Venom symbiote and becoming the Symbiote Spiderman? I believe this could be a significant reason for Mordo’s targeting of Spider-Man, as he was responsible for the malfunction of Doctor Strange’s early amnesia spell.”
Although the outcome is uncertain, the official synopsis for Venom 3 reveals that Eddie and Venom are on the run. Pursued by both of their worlds and with their options dwindling, the pair must make a difficult choice that will mark the end of their partnership in a final showdown.
