Venom 4 Confirmed? Exploring the Future of the Symbiote Franchise

Venom and Eddie Brock’s saga has concluded with three films, but is there a possibility of a Venom 4 within Sony’s future lineup?

Titled Venom: The Last Dance, the film stays true to its name. Eddie and Venom have now bid farewell, marking the end of this segment in the Sony Spider-Man Universe.

Nonetheless, with numerous Easter eggs and fresh characters introduced in the latest installment, could there be hidden plans for more adventures?

Here’s what we currently understand about the prospects of Venom 4, as well as what might unfold in this gooey alien saga.

No Plans for Venom 4

At this time, Venom: The Last Dance is confirmed as the final entry in the series, meaning we likely won’t see Tom Hardy reprise his role as Eddie Brock/Venom.

This conclusion has been made clear through the film’s promotional material, with both Hardy and writer Kelly Marcel indicating that The Last Dance serves as the conclusion of this narrative arc.

“We always envisioned it as a trilogy,” Marcel stated [via People]. “From the start, it was clear how this would end.”

“When Sony approached me to direct, I thought, ‘Alright then.’ I was involved in the first two films and knew this would be the final installment, which would be both enjoyable and moving,” she added.

If you’ve watched the conclusion of Venom 3, it’s evident that Eddie and Venom’s alliance has definitively ended, and at present, no additional sequels have been revealed.

Nonetheless, this doesn’t signify the closure of Sony’s symbiote universe…

Future Films in the Venom Universe?

While The Last Dance marks the end for Eddie and Venom, Kelly Marcel has hinted at more films set in the Venom universe.

Considering the vast expanse of narratives within the Spider-Man universe, numerous exciting paths could emerge for this Venom-oriented saga. Although Venom’s character may have reached his end, other intriguing characters and their symbiotes await exploration.

Moreover, the possibility for Venom’s return exists; after all, he left traces of his signature symbiotic goo while journeying with Eddie…

One potential lead is Knull, an imposing antagonist teased in the recent film. Those familiar with the comics recognize Knull as a significant villain. The Last Dance only gives a glimpse of Knull’s capabilities, and Marcel has suggested that further developments involving him may be on the horizon.

“This marks merely the introduction of Knull,” she explained [via Variety]. “He is a tremendous character, and we can’t just have a one-off with him. This is just a taste of Knull. We’ll see what unfolds for him in the future.”

“Although Eddie and Venom’s narrative comes to a close here,” she confirmed, “there are numerous symbiote tales within the canon. Several paths remain open, and perhaps there are a few Easter eggs that will initiate that adventure.”

Indeed, several intriguing Easter eggs exist—the Xenophage, Knull, and Rex Strickland all play crucial roles in Marvel’s comics, hinting that future films could delve into these characters and creatures.

As for Hardy’s rendition of Eddie Brock, it seems this marks his conclusion in the series. The most plausible route for him would be to make appearances in upcoming Spider-Man films, like the anticipated Spider-Man 4; however, Hardy has confirmed no such plans are currently in place.

“I don’t foresee [Eddie Brock/Venom] appearing in the next Spider-Man film, because I would need access to the script, which I do not have,” he revealed [via ComicBook.com].
